I'm kinda new to linux and I'm new to webmin. I have a fresh install of xampp + webmin and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong when I'm adding new domains This is how I add the virtual servers:

Address name: Any Port:80 Document Root:/path/to/htdocs Server Name:domain.com

I thought I'd let you know that todays webmin upgrade broke Virtualmin pro on our Redhat EL 5 system. The update came through the redhat channel (maybe we should disable this in the future???).

I don't know what exactly happened but after the upgrade certain modules have gone missing: ie, usermin, spam, and proftpd.

I manually installed the 3 modules again and all seems to be up again.

Does anyone have an example for the format we need to use in the DNS record generator? I'd like to have it generate a bunch of w.x.y.z.mydomain.com records so that each of my clients has a valid DNS and reverse dns entry.

I've looked for examples, but failed so far.

Had a strange attack on a webmin server this weekend. Probably not a webmin problem, but just in case I thought I would report it.

Around 10PM Eastern a remote user at an AOL address attempted to log on once to one of my webmin servers via account "admin" and was rejected because of a bad password. Then the same IP attempted to log in as user "steve" and was successful on the first try.

Anyone have a clue how to resolve this error message:

Failed to install module : Failed to create new PTY

I'm trying to install the suggested Perl modules in webmin but keep getting this error. Been awhile since I did a clean install so I probably skipped some step somewhere. Fresh FreeBSD 6.3 install with webmin first thing installed after the port update. I've googled and hit a blank.

Is it possible to use "*" as IP address in <VirtualHost *:80> ? Now i just can to choose for the server IP or virtual/alias IP.

I tried to connect to PostgreSQL from my simple java code (on the same server), but received following error:

[code:1]Connection refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.[/code:1]

What should I do to succesfully connect to the database? PostgreSQL has been installed via Webmin and works properly (I can add tables etc. using virtualmin).

I just updated Webmin to 1.400 on my OSX box and found that the BSD firewall (ipfw) and Bandwidth Monitoring are not working anymore at all now. Apparently this already broke in an webmin update to 1.39 i made last week but it is still broken in 1.400 so I thought I report it here... btw. I could not find OSX or BSD as system on the bugtracker..

BSD Firewall is throwing this error: [code:1]Error - Perl execution failed

This is the worse webmin release ever.

Out of 7 clients I have each of them have all lost VM Pro features/addons/modules.

On my own box it completely deleted VM2 and VM Pro.

I had to reinstall VM Pro on all my clients boxes including mine plus re-download every friggin plugin.

Frankly I am less then impressed with webmin at this point and I advise anyone that hasn't updated to NOT update webmin at all until Jamie/Joe fix this problem.

Earlier today, I restarted BIND (along with all of my other services), and for some reason, it would not restart. I have tried restarting my server twice now, and BIND will not restart with the server, and when I try to start BIND in webmin it gives me the following error[code:1]Failed to start BIND : Unknown error[/code:1]

Does anyone know what could be causing this/how to fix it?
