Webmin

Hi,

I have server under debian with ip: 202.xxx.xxx.12, hostname: mydomain.net also i got 2 ip: 202.xxx.xxx.13 & 202.xxx.xxx.14 from my isp.

I want to use ns1.mydomain.net and ns2.mydomain.net as name server for another domain. what should i do, please help me.

Hey guys hope someone can help with this, I have installed Xebian and samba on an xbox which is used just as a file server, i use webmin 1.400 to configure it with my networked XP laptop as i dont have a keyboard or mouse for it. The problem i have is that since i reinstalled XP on my laptop i get this error when i type "https://MYXBOX_IP_ADDRESS:10000" into IE6 address bar.

"Error - Bad Request This web server is running in SSL mode. Try the URL https://MYXBOXNAME:10000/ instead."

In the MySQL Database Sever module in Webmin there is a backup feature. (Yeah!)

My question is how does this handle the dbs during the backup process? Does it lock them?

I am fairly new to the Webmin application and had some questions. I am currently running Webmin on an AIX 5.3 box. I tried reloading the application a few times and it does work, the installation works fine. The problem that I am having is when I go to the http://hostname:1000 it shows the login page and I am able to login but the only information it shows is the system information and a logout button. The menu with all the modules does not display at all.

I am making a website in html for a client there is a .gif animation as a hover (called by css)

when hovering the mouse over it, it plays in FF, IE7, Safari Mac and IE6 when hovering a second time it does not play in IE7 and Safari Mac, but does in the other browsers.

I 'assume' that the browser shows the gif from cache and then only shows the last frame.

Without trying to put some extra code into the .gif, since IE won't listen to it and the meta headers no-cache/pragma do not work, I was thinking to override the browser caching behavior from the server.

this new option affects only server owners or all cronjobs? I have ntp running every 20 minutes for instance.

also does it apply to newly created jobs or also the existing jobs.

What do I need to do in the Webmin MySQL module to allow remote connection to datebases on the server?

I like to use Navicat and am being refused connection.

I have opened up port 3306 -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 3306 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 3306 -j ACCEPT

I tried adding host permission to the DB I wanted (and then to any) for my static IP of my home office with no luck.

The DB user for the DB I want to work with has full permissions for the DB.

Any ideas?

I can not access on webmin anymore. My OS is Redhat 4 AS Enterprise. Installed is Webmin with virtualmin. The usermin interface wirh port 20000 works. But when use port 10000 nothing happens.

With /etc/init.d/ ./webmin stop I receive the following message:

Stopping Webmin server in /usr/libexec/webmin cat: /var/webmin/miniserv.pid: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden kill: usage: kill [-s sigspec | -n signum | -sigspec] [pid | job]... or kill -l [sigspec]

When start the webmin with /etc/init.d/ ./webmin start then I did not get any error.

What is proper procedure to add mcrypt?

When looking at mail accounts using the Read User Mail module in Webmin for accounts that have received mail and then deleted all their mail Read User Mail module shows (10.27 kB in 1) for those accounts even though when clicking on that mail account there is no mail.

For some of the accounts the number is different such as (16.53 kB in 1) or (16.98 kB in 1).

If I send mail to one of those accounts the number goes up and then if the mail is removed it goes back to that same number rather than going back to nothing.

Is this a bug? What's going on?
