Webmin

After install a SSL Certificate in the SSL Encryption section of Webmin Configuration, I selected the option to Redirect non-SSL requests to SSL mode.

Upon testing this feature, it worked except it replaced my server host name with it's matching IP address. This still works but I'm curious as to why it does this and if there is some configuration that can be done to correct this problem.

Clamav is causing a lot of issues. None of my clients run Windows so its use is debatable. The only reason I haven't gotten rid of it yet is because I'm not quite sure how, it looks like apt-get remove will break the mail wrappers.

Any tips for what I should do so I don't run into a mail-breaking gotcha?

I have a problem with Apache control module, when I choose my favorite language (Polish).

In english translation: When I'm using in Virtualmin Services->Configure Website->Per-Directory Options->(any path)->Access Control virtualmin show me "Access checking order:" and "Allow then deny" marked. In config file virtualmin makes "order allow,deny". It is ok.

Next I change to polish Language.

Right, so this is the last problem I think I'm having before everything is set up and working...hopefully lol...and that's sending email from a client like Outlook.

SendMail is setup and is recieving and distributing emails fine from both local and external sources, senging internally is also fine but the problem comes when trying to send to an address outside, say 'someone@yahoo.com' when I try this i get the following error message;

I'm slowly working my way through Webmin, Virtualmin and Usemin, I've managed to configure it as a nameserver, get apache up and running and all is looking good, lol probably not a great feat I know but I'm not very experienced with Linux, so I'm overjoyed!

But the problem I'm having now is with Proftpd, by using Webmin to install it just simply wouldn't work, it would end with "Nothing to do" and of course wouldn't show up in the Server List, I've even specified the URL to the module on the webmin website, but again it produces the same affect.

I have two new installs one on Debian (Major Problems get this one working) and on a ubunto 8 server. Both of these are not moving installed module such as dovecot, mysql, procmail, spamassassin to the sever list. Both of these installs were done by the setup script as the apt-get install failed.

How dose webmin determine if the module is installed and move it to the right place? When it fails to do so how do you move them manually?

A couple oddities with the MySQL webmin module and the Virtualmin mysql integration: The databases don't appear!

In the webmin module, the index page says

"No MySQL databases were found on your system."

If I go into the "Database permissions" section, it lists all of the databases.

If I go into Virtualmin, the MySQL setup passes the configuration checker, but it doesn't show any of the user's databases, even though they were created and I can view them via a tool like phpMyAdmin.

Any idea what could cause this?

I am trying to get passive FTP setup but am not having luck.

I have added the following to the proftpd config file: PassivePorts 49152 65534

Doe it matter where exactly I put the above directive?

I am behind a nat so I opened up the ports 49152-65534.

Is there anything else I am to do? It does not work. Using PORT works fine.

When I click on RECHECK AND REFRESH CONFIGURATION I get the following error message: "The address mapping source mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual-alias-maps.cf cannot be used : The MySQL configuration parameter table was not found. Webmin needs this to figure out which table and fields to query."

the ...alias_maps works for Postfix just fine. Why can't the .cf be used in Webmin?

I have search in vain to find a "MySQL configuration parameter table" reference anywhere. What is this? How is this problem fixed?
