I noticed that whenever a cron job is run, an email gets sent to the server root's email address.

It is annoying because it is taking up unnecessary server space in the email folder and bogging me down whenever I want to check the LogWatch email.

So I asked our Webmin genius what can we do to stop the automatic email to root. Below is his answer.

Hi, I tried to setup webmin so it listens only on port 443 and on my IP. Dunno why, but it didn't work, and now webmin does not answer to requests anymore...

Any way to edit webmin setup file so it listens again to all addresses and on port 10000, so I can fix this issue?

Until a few days ago, I always connected to webmin on port 10000 in https mode.

Now, I don't understand why, I cannot anymore. When I try to do that my browser pops up a window with an error code -12263.

BUT I can still connect to webmin in plain http.

Dunno what I did wrong in the config...

I just added smartmontools to my Ubuntu 6.06 LTS server, fully patched to latest apt updates. Version 5.34 of smartctl is running on the system, along with Webmin 1.360.

smartctl -a /dev/sda (or sdb) is able to get a full readout from both of my Seagate ST373207LC hard disks when executed from the command line, but in Webmin the same disks show "Supports SMART" "Yes" and "SMART Enabled" "No" with no other output.

Hi,

I moved a CENTOS 5 virtual machine to a new host, and while everything else seems to be working (so far), I can no longer log in to webmin.

The login page comes up, I enter my credentials, and then I get a 500 web server error.

I am using https in this case... And I have told it to ignore the certificate issues (the basic shipped certificate is installed.)

I am using the IP address to connect, not a domain name, from the host machine.

This works completely on the other machine, and I haven't even changed the IP address.
