I was using vsftpd but wanted more configuration flexibility so uninstalled vsftpd and installed ProFTPd. Afterwards, I reconfigured virtualmin to work with proftpd.

The problem I'm having is not that FTP doesn't work, but rather that the system is allowing anyone with an email address to use FTP to the server. They get jailed to their home dir, but I don't want them to have any FTP access at all.

I have no idea where to even start with troubleshooting this. Help!

Is there anyone who knows what zones and records that should exist by default after a new VM Pro install on Fedora Core 6.

After install the only record was "Root zone". And after the install of our old box with Fedora Core 4 there was at least "Root zone, localhost, localdomain, 127.0.0, 0, 255"

Should I have these on my new box to, if so, how do I add them. There are so many different ones with a lot of setting to choose from in BIND. I'm not shure how to get this right.

I just trying modify an existing domain to enable SSL in virtualmin, but i got this message : "Failed to modify server : SSL cannot be enabled unless a virtual IP interface or private port is enabled"

I'm making headway with Virtualmin on our test server. One strange thing is though that perl scripts do not run on the server UNLESS I comment out the SuexecUserGroup directive. Currently, the directive appears as:

I just noticed that since the 3.33 version update of virtualmin, all of a sudden, my hosting users can log in to SSH. I noticed a new option in the "edit limits" window, where you can enable ssh and ftp. The biggest problem is that they can move around into the entire server and that they can change all files! I only want ftp to be enabled. Do I nog have to go to every single domain and edit the settings manually so they can not login to ssh??? :|

Hi Joe,

I'd like to point both ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com to the one Virtualmin machine. I've got 2 IP's - can you please let me know what I have to do for Virtualmin to take care of setting up ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com for new servers, as well as any other config needed on the server? I know about setting up slave but that's for another machine yeah?

Also, is there a list of Virtualmin variables for use in templates?

I'm trying to set up S3 backup on a Virtualmin server installed on Debian 3.1 and need XML::Simple but when I install it with prerequisite XML::SAX::Base then XML::SAX::Base fails with this:

Can anyone help? I tried to install from cpan shell with same result.

Last night, I finally was able to get POP3 working. I had set up only one virtual server. I accessed one email account on that server, and I was able to send and receive mail through POP3.

A little bit ago, I added a second virtual server on the same machine. And that email account that I was able to access last night will no longer connect.

I've been fighting this for a couple of weeks. Generally, I will install both domains at one time, and I will get nothing when I try POP.
