Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

MySQL installed and detected by Webmin, but not Virtualmin

Hiya! Let's start with the salient information... version numbers:

MySQL: 5.0.32 Webmin: 1.340 development (didn't work with the stable 1.330 either) Virtualmin: 3.39 GPL Debian: 4.0 up-to-date

I've searched and searched on this one, tried different combinations of Virtualmin and Webmin versions, even tried changing between Ubuntu and Debian distro in case it's a silly problem with either of those, but to no avail.

Make virtualmin edit /etc/postfix/virtual

OK - I've almost got postfix up and running again. I'm attempting to set it up to use the Maildir format, and I'm oh so close.

Virtualmin is setting up the addresses fine and the mappings as well. The problem is that postfix is only receiving mail for domains listed in the mydestination parameter. Example:

SMTP Server for External Client?

Hey I'm using Mail for Mac OSX and I just recently setup webmin with virtualmin. I finally got my FTP working, and now I can send mail from webmin perfectly fine from webmin but I cannot receive it in webmin. When I am setting up the account in mail (external pop/imap client) I use my.domain.com for the POP server, then my pop3 username and pass, works. Then it prompts for smtp server and I put in the same info, but it said it couldn't reach an smtp server at that address.

URGENT! Need to close open relay

OK, in setting up webmin/virtualmin/postfix/server, I managed to set postfix up to run as an open relay. Obviously this is not wanted (machine is being attacked right now to send out thousands of emails..) The following is my postconf. Please help me close postfix to further attacks...

[pre]alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases

alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases

broken_sasl_auth_clients = yes

canonical_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/canonical

command_directory = /usr/sbin

config_directory = /etc/postfix

daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix

Quick question about how provisioning of Virtual Interfaces/IP's is supposed to happen.

I've used Webmin for years, so bear with me here. :)

I've set up on FreeBSD 6.x, and it's on me to configure this, which is fine. I can do things manually without a problem, ie I go into Network, create a virtual interface/IP, then go back, create a new site and use that IP. No sweat.

I also see that I can pick which network interface to use in the module configuration (good), and set a base number for virtual interface (good), then in templates and resellers, I can assign a range of IP's.

strange issue with quotas

I've got an odd problem with some of the user quotas on the system. One of the domains has a dozen users or so. When I look at the list of email users, it shows one user as having a 50MB quota, which is correct, but right beside that, it shows "(Unlimited used)". He's already used "unlimited"?? Seems unlikely.

Still having problems with virtualmin.

Read the faq before you ask. Ok. I have read the faq. But still having problems with alot of spam.

I have aksed for howto check if spamassassin and clamd are running.

Again:

Are there a log file, where I can check the clam and spamassassin? And why can the clam not be upgraded from 0.88 to 0.90?

I miss monitoring tools for this server. A tool that tells if someting not running or should be upgraded.

Please tell me somethings.

It can not be true that QmailToaster are better!?!
