Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Upgraded to 3.32-2 & now have problem with mod_suexec

On my Debian sarge server I have apt-get update apt-get install webmin-virtual-server

to install the latest upgrade but now have the following error checking configuration:

" Suexec is enabled in the default template, but the Apache module mod_suexec is not installed or not enabled.

.. your system is not ready for use by Virtualmin. "

I don't think I should be disable suexec in the default template.

How does one enable module mod_suexec?

username format problem

I'm currently moving some users to a new server with Virtualmin. I need to create some email accounts with a short login of the form "username" (rather than "username.domain") to avoid changes on the client side.

I read in the docs as well as in this forum that with the following 3 Virtualmin config options I should be able to do that.

-- Include domain name in usernames? -- Format for usernames that include domain -- Domain name style in usernames

However, I only got the second one (Format...) under "Mail for domain" in the server template edition.

New Install of Virtualmin Pro

I did a clean install of Fedora Core 5, and then installed Virtualmin Pro. When I go to the site (https://server:10000/), all I get is the webmin login. What makes it worse, is my admin login does not work.

When I installed, I did not get any errors that I saw. I know I have not given much info, so please let me know what else you need.

Complete Webhosting Newbie

I understand that running a server takes some work and reading of which I have done a lot of both. Please forgive me if I seem not to know what I'm doing (because I don't) I want to host 4 of my own personal websites for myself and family.

I had my ISP (Roadrunner) add 5 Public IP's to my internet service and moved the speed to 15mbps dn and 2mbps up

I purchased Virtualmin Pro and downloaded it the computer I am setting up as the host.

P4 3.2GHz 1024DDR 260Gig HDD with Fedora 5 loaded

SSL slow

I configured SSL server wide to have certain applications use SSL. For instance I have squirrel mail installed under /var/www/html. I then setup a virtual host directive so that users can just goto email.theirdomain.com and it will serve up squirrel mail. The problem is that it is slow under https. The pages take about 10x as long to load as they do under http. Any suggestions?

Thanks Geoff
