Webmin

Google has removed support for NPAPI in Chrome for Linux, and will remove it from all platforms from September 2015.

The consequence for Webmin is that the File Manager (my favourite bit) does not work in Chrome for Linux, and will not work on any platform after September. I have been reduced to using Firefox for Webmin, but I fear that Firefox (and other browsers) will follow Chrome's lead eventually - apparently it is a "security" thing.

While I am configuring sites with virtualmin, I am looking at what happens in the apache server section of webmin. If this is the incorrect forum, I will be happy to relocate this post.

Whoops: I should have told you: I am running a test server under ubuntu 14.04LTS, webmin 1.730, with virtualmin 4.13 gpl.

First question:

When I list out the existing virtual hosts, I see there is a default server. Is the default server just anything not defined in a virtualhost section, or in Apache configuration terminology: the main server?

Virtualmin version 4.13.gpl GPL CentOS Linux 6.6 Package updates All Virtualmin packages are up to date.

Just noticed that Webmin->Software Package Updates (Click "Installed") returns "No packages available to be updated were found." All my installed packages seem to be missing.

If I click on "Only New" it shows lots of packages, including installed ones, as it should.

I'm having to get Webmin started at each boot by running /etc/webmin/start in command line. I've had a look in boot up/shut down section and tried to set it there but the settings keep reverting to 'no' for start on boot. I've also tried to set it in main Webmin configuration page but again the settings won't save, they keep reverting to 'no' for start on boot. This is a fresh install on CentOS 7

Any suggestions where I should look next?

I would like to change Loaded Configuration File for all virtual servers, and /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini to become main php.ini for all virtual servers. Is this possible?

Currently phpinfo() showing like this:

Configuration File (php.ini) Path /etc/php5/cgi

Loaded Configuration File /home/domainname.com/etc/php5/php.ini

Used to work, can log into ssh but not webmin/virtualmin

not creating/updating file: /var/webmin/miniserv.log

how can i find out why it wont start ?

I've installed monit via YUM and all runs fine however I found it isn't starting at boot so in the Bootup and Shutdown (module/list) I've added a new bootup and shutdown action which is a Bootup command of:

service monit start

However after rebooting the server the service isn't started, can anyone advise please?

Our domain is henryind.com and we use Webmin as IMAP/pop client for the "scan-to-email" function of our printers (hyenryind-printers). Last week this function went down on all our printers. All other printer functions work as they should. All are networked and can be accessed. All printers have the correct settings and port assignment and have been working flawlessly a long time. Last Tues. they ceased to "scan-to-email." What's changed?
