Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Adding Perl Modules? How?

In virtualmin pro I go to the other tab, and click on perl modules, it shows me a bunch of modules installed, i need to install Image::MagicK perl module File::Copy perl module Image::Size perl module

So I type those into the cpan box, and it brings up a little box, where I search for one of those items, it finds it, there is what looks like a floppy disc icon and the name of the item

Either one clicked on does nothing but take me back to my perl modules page in the small page and no module is added.

Email Issues - need help!

Please help, my system administrator that normally does this is sick and our virtual server doesn't seem to be sending emails for 2 days now.

It appears that mail is getting delivered to the server, but the server isn't forwarding them to the mailboxes.

I looked into all the web interface screens and frankly don't know what to look for. Can I reboot the server, If i do will emails get lost or do I need to access a log file from a command prompt on the server?

Blank PHP pages

I have installed Fedora Core 4 with PHP5. When I load a PHP page via a web client I get a blank page.

I have tried several time to remove php and re-install from FC4 distributions, in the hope that the RPM's might set everything up to work. No luck.

My php.conf file below is in /etc/http/conf.d/

What doesn't work if suexec docroot is _not_ set to /home

I'm currently looking at ignoring this setting in order to simplify yum package upgrading, etc.

I understand that users will not be able to run cgi-scripts from within their own web homes. This is not really a problem for me at the moment, since my users only use PHP anyway.

My question is whether this is the only limitation imposed by not including this setting, or if I might anticipate other things "breaking" as well.

Also: switching to a rebuilt rpm with --with-suexec-docroot=/home at a later stage if I see the need for it shouldn't be a problem, correct?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect()

Hi guys I have moved my site over from my old webhosting box to my nice shiney new Virtualmin site, im running centos 4 and the only thing i have changed is the version of mysql im running is the newer version 5 (which mysql recommend on there site)

Is there something i have missed out, should i downgrade to version 4?

Thanks

Richy

SUEXEC is the only obstacle in my way

I decided recently to stop using my ISP to host a number of web sites I have due to lack of support (and down time). So I set about setting up my own web server (with virtual domains etc). Then I came across Webmin and Virtual min. What an amazing package!!

4 days on I am now struggling. Mainly for one reason. Apache needs to be re-compiled so that the --with-suexec-docroot=/home

virtualmin pro install.sh fails

I was using the gpl virtualmin, worked fine (for a newb). uninstalled it, bought pro, executed the install.sh, no virtualmin in the webin server list.

1st time I tried the install, I saw an 'fatal error' stating that some group or another wasn't found... before I could write it down the script finished and closed the putty window. I did disable a lot of groups that the system wasn't using (it started as a game server... now I want to try out some webhosting), so I'm sure that's the problem... but I don't know which to re-enable.

Lost the frame set up

Hi,

I have been using Virtualmin for a few days now but somehow (no idea at all how) managed to zap the left hand frame with the menu system in (v3.08)

Does anyone know how to get this back as even logging out back in again doesn't seem to reset it.

I get a tabbed version of webmin instead.

Urgent replies/suggestions about how to restore the frames would be appreciated as some weekend/pre Monday morning work to do :-)

Thanks in advance,

Paul

PHP mail

I'm having trouble getting mail to be sent from my PHP scripts. They use the mail() PHP function. The function executes, but no mail is ever delivered.

I am testing this on my test server, so I set the "Send outgoing mail via host" to my ISP's smtp host (smtp.east.cox.net) in the Postfix Configuration.

This works if I send mail from ssh using the Linux mail command. Mail is delivered to the internet.

But, with PHP scripts run by Apache, the scripts appear to work but no mail every shows up. I have no idea where it is ending up.
