Running backup gives the following error:

Backup failed : Failed to open /etc/webmin/backup-config/config for writing : Bad file descriptor

Here are find results:

Seems that it is pointing to the wrong directory?

Hello All.

Just got myself up and running and a great system :-).

Just a question that someone can hopefully help with.

With 1 or more domains how can you set the default domain.

And second on the default domain I have my local server running on 192.168.1.100, so I have set my router to point port 80 to this IP.

So in theory if i try from my external ip http://xx.xx.xx.xx I should see my default domain but its not showing.

Any suggestion on the questions.

Hi, I have been trying to do this for some time now with no success.

I want to be able to configure apache to forward a partcular address to an internal machines webserver, i.e machinename.domainname.com on my external IP. forward to 192.168.0.200's web server port 80

or

domainname.com/machinename forward to internal machine port 80

I do not want to use port forwarding as i obviously have a server on the default port 80 of this main machine.

This is strange. I was attempting to install an SSL certificate from GoDaddy in Webmin Config. Suffice to say it didn't take (my mistake), but somehow during the process my Apache Module Config and Bind Config files were deleted even though named and httpd were both running without incident. I reconfigured both modules and all is fine, I hope.

How does a failed SSL certificate installation delete the parms in both of the webmin module config files?

When attempting to use the java file manager in Webmin/Others/File Manager I get the following error:

Failed to get language list : javax.net.ssl.HandshakeException : java.security.cert.CertificateException: Java couldn't trust server

Suggestions?

I think there's something incredibly basic I'm missing here. I can't access a MySQL database with an external script. Internal (same server) scripts are fine. I've enabled access for the IP address and user, but can't connect.

Importantly, I can't telnet to port 3306. I think this is actually what is going on (or at least a good place to start), the port isn't open.

Also, as an aside, the search function on the forum isn't very useful. I'm sure someone has encountered this kind of before but I couldn't find anything without paging through all the old posts.

I created a virtual server and I notice that the user are been created as user.domain@domain.com. Is it possible to have the users created without this sufix (.domain) or is this the virtualmin way to work?

I am tring to set up postfix smtp to only allow mail to be sent when a correct username and password has been supplied for the account. for instance i have a php script that sends email from a contact us script, it has username and password fields, at present it will send without username and password. Anyone any idea of a way i can force postfix to look for the username and password????
