Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Spam Assassin

Hello, I have spamassassin installed in webmin but it isn't showing up in my Virtualmin.

I haven't set up any servers yet, but it still isn't displayed under Virtualmin -> System Settings -> Features and Plugins as "Spam Filtering"

as I've seen in other installations. How do I get this enabled/installed?

Where to begin: One user many sub-domains.

CentOs 5.2 fresh install webmin and virtualmin 3.67

I have several sub-domains eg

my.site.com foo.site.com fie.site.com

There is only me here, no other users. The box is all mine. I'll be developing the sites, and they will have shared code (CodeIgnitor framework), so I would prefer a directory structure like, eg

/home/domains/public_html/my /home/domains/public_html/foo /home/domains/public_html/fie

moving from local mail to google apps

Hi,

Currently, I've got Mail for Domain Enabled and have been receiving mail with no trouble.

We are interested in offloading our mailbox handling to google apps and want to ensure that mail for our domain gets sent to gmail.

Is this as simple as unchecking the Mail for domain enabled? checkbox?

Also, we have postfix installed as the mail server, it will continue send mail out as it always has regardless of the status of this checkbox, correct?

Thanks,

Joe

I broke clamav-daemon

On a Debian 5 server I was getting the following error in my logwatch reports on a daily basis:

Last Status: WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED! WARNING: Local version: 0.94.2 Recommended version: 0.95.1 DON'T PANIC! Read http://www.clamav.net/support/faq

so I followed the URL listed above and followed the instructions, but went a step too far...

I upgraded to the latest stable version but I still get the message Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED, why?

Virtualmin cgi execution issues

I am currently running CentOS 5.3 and Virtualmin 3.60 (GPL)

I cannot get perl files to execute through a web browser. I do not get a 404 or any other error when typing in the correct url, just a blank webpage. I have recompiled apache to have the suexec directory be /home, changed permissions, edited httpd.conf and still cannot get it to work. Below are my config and log files:

users can see each other

Hi and congratulations for this software and for the contribution to open source.

Last 2 weeks I've been installing and uninstalling several different control panels available on the internet, after some headecks and 'cause i know webmin for a long time I decided to try the free version of this software.

I use outside DNS management and use this software to have our almost 30 domains on our own server. It seems that we'll be using this CP and give up on all others.

suexec command configured to /var/www

Virtualmin gives this error when I try checking the configuration.

The Suexec command on your system is configured to only run scripts under /var/www, but the Virtualmin base directory is /home. CGI and PHP scripts run as domain owners will not be executed.

Okay, I admit I've seen posts about this thread everywhere, but all the topics seem to be way above my head. The one that DOES seem to be a useful set of instructions is, uh, written in German and I can't follow it closely enough to be confident.

Moving from EC2 instance to EBS?

Hello, I'm a total newbie at both AWS and Virtualmin, so forgive me if I say something inane.

My question is, since Instances aren't meant to be permanent, should I move Virtualmin installed in the instance to EBS lest I lose everything when the instance shuts down?

Is this what I'm supposed to do? If so how? Or am I totally missing the mark? Thanks.
