Help! (Home for newbies)

Hi-

I'm going through the process of transferring over from plesk to web/virtualmin. One of the sticking points that I have is getting mailman up and running.

I installed virtualmin via the install.sh which went fine. I've created a few virtual servers and that all seems correct.

When I select my virtual server, select mailing lists from the left, I have the interface for the mailing list creation. I can create a mailing list fine. However, when I go to manage this mailing list, I get the: Bug in Mailman version 2.1.11 error.

I am trying to setup a slave dns server following the instructions on this page http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/id,dns_slave_auto-configuration_... .

I have the firewalls on both servers open from port 10000 to 10010. I am using the root account as a login and I am getting these results.

Failed to connect to fastrpc.cgi : Failed to connect to xx.xx.xx.xx:10007 : Connection timed out

any help would be awesome!

When I create a virtual server the mail system fails to be enabled. The server will create but mail is unavailable. If I try to edit the VS and enable mail the same problem occurs.

Adding to email domains list .. .. Mail for domain failed! :

There is nothing in the syslog or any other log I can find that give more detail on what is causing the issue.

Any thoughts on what else to do?

Hello, Ive been using Webmin and Virtualmin for over a year now but never bothered to setup email for my domains. Today I installed Postfix and I can send email from my server but when trying to receive an email from outside I get an error message that reads like this:

The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 5.7.1 <example@domain.com>: Relay access denied (state 14).

Hi, I've had a Virtualmin gpl server running for several months now without any problems. (thanks for the great code) But in the last couple of days I am getting complaints that email is being bounced, here is the message:

first: could an admin delete my two previous posts? i cant read them at all :(

i just set up my first virtualmin server and everything works fine except the email stuff :( i created users and folders (usermin & thunderbird (IMAP)) and send some testmails but i want to reset the mail settings including delete all mails, is that possible? because its a new server it doesn matter to loose all the testmails!

i got some errors like the "read user email" modul says that there are emails but the folders are empty :( (see attached screenshot)

I just got installed virtualmin : everything was working fine until I created my first server. Since then, menu disappeared from the left side : I cant create any database anymore, no virtual server, etc..

I join a view of the actual menu. Can anybody explain to me what happened : is this bug, a misconfiguration issue.. ?

I really don't know what happened ??

In webmin as well, the configuration modules hint disappeared..

Hi all, I've a server running a site ABC.com and i configured the CNAME test.ABC.com (Server A) points to test.com (Server B)

ABC.com and test.com running on different location.

test.com is under administrated by virtualmin. Means this box has more than 1 site beside test.com all using internal IPs.

When i launch a browser test.ABC.com it goes to default hostname in server B.

I can't blame on CNAME record, as i know it only translate into IP. Using that IP accessing the intended IP.

I'm using VM GPL up to date and have a user who some time ago asked for a bump in the disk quota, from the default 1G to 3G. I duly went into VM and upped the limit. The disk usage for that user in a GIS app varies quite a lot up and down. Last night he was trying to install a data file of about 500M with about 2G free. He got a "disk full" error.
