Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Install failure but solved now.

Thought I would post this here by way of a heads up. Probably something I did wrong but ...

I decided to start from scratch on the server and returned to a clean CentOS 5.3 install.

This time, because I had a pro licence I decided to download the install.sh from the licence page.

So, I installed Webmin, checked things were looking ok, then tried to install Virtualmin.

I got the following error :

view file from backup?

I save a virtualmin backup with all features and sites to my desktop ('download in browser' option).

Is there a way to access and view a single file in it?

I'm using PowerArchiver to extract where I think the file might be (it's an html file). I'm guessing files in public_html would be in the domainname.com_dir, so I extracted that.

Once extracted, I get a file named domainname.com_dir but how do I open that? Or am I barking up a wrong tree (or directory tree) here?

Disable backuping of users emails and ftp folders

Is there any way to globaly disable backuping emails and ftp folders inside virtual server?

I don't want to backup gigabytes of users data (like emails and ftp stuff are) - I just want to backup home of virtual server itself - as I am little hosting provider and I want to have only website and database backuped. It is up to users backuping their emails and files.

Now I am doing it by manualy disabling users folder inside huge virtual servers. Can this be done globaly?

Thanks a lot!

mail forwarding - User unknown in virtual alias table

I have a mail account set up that receives email fine.

Wanting copies of all emails to go to an off server account, I have set up mail forwarding. The email is still received, but I get an error returned to the sender:

This is the mail system at host alpha.???.com.

Default site, if a user goes to your ip address?

I have set up two virtual hosts, that both work great. If I try to go to http://ip_address instead of a domain name, it takes me to one of the two sites. As luck would obviously have it, it's not to the one I want it to go to.

I found something through some searches that there is a "default" flag somewhere that I need to set on the domain that will be the default. Any tips on where this is, or how to set the default domain name?

How to set up phpMyAdmin with Virtualmin/vhosts?

Maybe this is super simple and I've just missed something. My users are already used to using phpmyadmin in Plesk so I hate to take that tool away from them.

I installed in Ubuntu 8.04 using apt-get install phpmyadmin. I see config files in /etc and the programs files in /usr/share/phpmyadmin. I am unsure how to even access the utility past this (I did try various combos like ipaddress/phpmyadmin).

Disabling collectinfo.pl

Is it possible to disable collectinfo.pl somehow?

I don't need to collect any info about my websites. I have my own monitoring and other scripts like check quota etc are running once a day.

I don't want to overload server with 5 minute collectinfo interval.

I have monitoring plugin disabled in virtualmin.

Thank you for any suggestion or advice.
