ok we have 200 or so domains that we host for people and we run plesk right now. Plesk is set up to use short names ie you have user@domain.com you can login as user if you use domain.com. is there anyway to allow for this as i dont feel like walking people through the process of changing it.

Also have been reading about cloud and tell me if I am wrong..

we have 4 servers

server a and server b are web servers/ mysql servers server c and server d are dns servers

As posted in another thread, I have been fooling around with Fail2Ban. I had some problems getting it running and will post about that in a new thread when thoroughly tested.

However, whilst reading page after page about Fail2Ban it would seem possible to use it as an anti-spam tool.

For those unfamiliar with Fail2Ban :- Fail2Ban works by watching any log you specify and using a regex Fail2Ban can update iptables and/or hosts.deny. Once certain criteria are met, the IP number is banned for a preset period.

I'm on Ubuntu version and I'm very new to Linux so please bear with me. It appears that I can send email out to local address (?) because I get Outlook test message in the mail box read from POSTFIX but cannot send out to outside address such as email@gmail.com.

I also cannot retrieve email with Outlook and on running check I get error at 'Log on to POP3.' I check in the mail log and it shows.

I am setting up a server at home (started ages ago, but too busy to get finished :o) )

and trying to get files from my real server by FTP. both servers have same version as listed below. looking on the web it seems like a firewall problem.

rules show ftp and ftp-data ports as enabled.

Accept If protocol is UDP and destination port is ftp-data
Accept If protocol is UDP and destination port is ftp

Accept If protocol is TCP and destination port is ftp
Accept If protocol is TCP and destination port is domain

I recently installed Virtualmin GPL in a CentOS 5.3 and an Ubuntu 8.04 server.

I have the following problems:

1- I need PHP Json module installed in Centos server, but have no idea how to do it. I searched for it on virtualmin website/docs/forum and didn't find any match. I found on google some tutorials, but most are very old and the newers says it's included in php5-common package, however, I don't know if I can just install it...

hi i have port 21 and 22 open and i can not login using ftp client,i already creat ftp account my website is prows.ws my server installed on https://webfolder.us:10000

also my server can not run flash sites ,should i install extra modules beside flash player prows.ws/index.html is a flash site thank you

I have a new problem:

In Webmin "System Information" does not work. I have the menu on the left, but the right stays white, except the "Configure this page | Refresh system information | Virtualmin documentation" script.

Any idea what it could be?

Okay my primary domain works fine

But the name servers (ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com) I have set up for it don't work for my new co.za domains, the name servers don't seem to be responding correctly.

I am unable to set disk quota through Virtualmin module in Webmin. Virtualmin shows The module could not find the mount point for your home directories filesystem /home.
