Help! (Home for newbies)

Hey, I'm looking to start web hosting and need something that will let my users register and create a subdomain/subfolder of their choice and possibly let them use their own registered domain name. I need to be able to set quotas of sorts and let them each have their own FTP access.. I'm just not sure if any of these products can do this for me? Can they?

I am not quite sure what is going on here. Mail was working fine until Friday. I ran the updates from last week on Friday and I was also working on getting SMTP working for a client. Now nothing is working. If you send an email to a user (from outside of server) the message doesn't bounce...however...it never makes it to the user. I have a really frustrated client (given I didn't the problem existed until a short while ago).

I have checked error logs and here is what I get:

I'm trying to set up some DNS record with below instructions but have noooo idea how to complete it in Virtualmin. I know where to go and edit the record but no idea about the rest. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I tried many times to install Virtualmin on my VPS runing Centos 5 i-386 full.

this wht i have done so far.

1- rebuild the VPS with fresh Centos 2- from Putty Command #wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh

3- Command sh install.sh

4- Clicked Yes and the installation Start .. and after some time i get Error with Fatal Error and the software can not be installed .

When I looked at the user table to see if I could fix the issue this came up:

"Failed to save field : SQL alter table user add primary key (User) failed : Duplicate entry 'root' for key 'PRIMARY'"

I have been browsing this forum in search of a solution or possibly a similar issue for several days already but to no avail. My problem is as follows:

I tried adding /var/log/maillog to my awstats analysis, using the custom log format:

"%time2 %email %email_r %host %host_r %method %url %code %bytesd"

I keep getting an error that says "no log format specified.

Any suggestions?

I am new to Virtualmin and I am "kicking the tires" so to speak before going to Pro. I installed on a fresh Debian 5 install and everything installed without a hitch.

When I create a domain, it works perfectly. I create a second domain, and it creates fine.

Now, when I try to browse the first site, it works great. I try and browse to the second site, and it goes to the 1st site.

The server is using a single IP address, however, I thought it was designed to work this way.

Dovecot is restarting about twice a day. Here is output generated by monit, which I grepped from syslog:
