Hi,

New to virtualmin - have just setup my server, and everything is working great except mail service.

I can send mail FROM the server to inside and outside accounts, but i cannot send mail to accounts from outside, gmail, hotmail and ordinary mail.

Mail send to the server is returned with this error:

please help me install mbstring in my virtualmin, i dont know which php version to use that has enabled this mbstring

my script need mb_substr() function enable to get it to work. and i already search google about this problem and i cant find it.

please guide my way.

Dear friends,

I would like to get rid of Plesk 12.08 that I have installed on a dedicated server.

I have searched here on the forum for some tips, but the topics I have found are rather old, so I'd like to please ask for some recent information/help.

Is migration from Plesk 12 > Virtualmin still possible?

In your expert advice, what is the best way to proceed in order to avoid conflicts and/or downtime?

I recently spun up a Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS EC2 instance and loaded virtualmin. Install went fine, no real issues. Once thing I have noticed is that when I create a virtual server the 'administration' user for the virtual server domain ends up as a 'master admin', meaning no matter what domain administration user you login as, you can basically do anything you want to any domain.

Is that normal? Doesn't seem like it should be doing this.

I am running CentOS 6.6 with Virtualmin installed. My 'job' is server management. I do the updates and make sure that the server and it's services are running. There are developpers on the system that are complaining about the versions of php and mysql they need to work with.

Since I do this in my free time and do not have a lot of time to put a lot of work in this project, I maintain only the updates from authorized repositories (Centos). I have no time for testing and debugging with other repo's.

on my server, gran-canaria-info.com is the default domain for its ip.

I googled some keywords, and to my surprise I found that

http://mail.grancanariacongress.com pointed as well to the default domain. In fact, all

mail.*.tld point to the default domain.

However, admin.gran-canaria-info.com does send you to the https bit as it should.

How do I improve this?

Attempting to use postfix instead of sendmail did the uninstall module Virtualmin postfix and mailman mailing list. Now after trying to return to the previous state has disappeared the menu on the left and appear the following message: (Module postfix does not exist) even though I have it updated as can see in the picture

How can I fix it?

In the SOA record the domain email is showing as - root.ns101.example.com

After installing Virtualmin I created two Child Name Servers at my domain register

ns101.example.com 91.121.X.X ns102.example.com 91.121.X.X

I added both the above to virtual min In -> Virtual server template details (BIND DNS domain)

Additional manually configured nameservers - ns102.example.com

(x) Add nameserver record for this system

Master DNS server hostname

(x)Hostname - ns101.example.com
