Plugin: Slave DNS Domain

Hi All,

Just wondered how the Slave DNS Domain works - does it only create a slave record on the slave server? How about adding that record to the master?

Basically I have two Virtualmin servers, Server1 is the master, and Server2 is across the pond and is the slave server.

I am hosting some websites directed at USA on the slave, and I want to get Virtualmin to automatically create the master DNS record on Server1.

Pb with email configuration with dovecot

Hello everybody
I'm trying to resolve my email issue for many days. I searched many forums and can't find any solution
My configuration is: webmin/virtualmin v 1.730, with postfix v 2.7.1 and Dovecot v 1.2.15
My problem is with Dovecot (I think)
I created a user/email account and try to configure on thunderbird
I can receive email, but I can not send (I precise that I can send from webmin admin )
My error on thunderbird :
* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE STARTTLS AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot ready

phpmyadmin : PHP not interpreted.. Is this due to PHP FCGI?

I installed phpmyadmin on centos via yum and can access it via //ip/phpMyAdmin.

However, it shows the source code instead of the interpreted PHP code result.

I tested this again by adding another file, test.php with just the contents "" and sure enough in this case too the source code was displayed.

I have other sites on this server installed for which php works just fine. These are in the /home directory however, and phpmyadmin is installed in /usr/share/phpMyAdmin

andreychek: Thank you

I had to reinstall my VPS server software (Debian 7) today. I did an update and an ugrade, then installed Virtualmin, same as the first time. The installation went good. No issues. I uploaded my site to the public_html dir and tried to load my index page. Surprisingly though, it loaded the index page from the /var/www/ instead of /home/my_site/public_html/. I have looked at everything!

Installing SSL Certificate Chain

Hello,

So I have successfully installed one of my certificates via the SSL Manager for my website. The problem is I have 3 other certificates and im a bit confused on where to install them.

I've read that I have to install it in the same directory as my ssl.cert and ssl.key dirctory, but also read it has to be installed in /etc/httpd/ or /etc/appache2.

I use Ubuntu 14.04 and my current certificates are installed in my /home/mywebsite directory. Can someone tell me where to put the rest of my certificates, and what file to edit?

Thanks in advance :)

Slave DNS Issues - received notify for zone 'example': not authoritative

Hi All,

I'm having issues setting up my slave DNS server, and google has given me some things to try, but they have all come up trumps.

My master DNS server works fine, its accepting connections, and it notifies the slave of the domains. The domain files are created (although empty) into var/named/slaves and these empty files get copied over to chroot/var/named/slaves

When i restart my master DNS it notifies the slave (as its supposed to) no error messages in the log file on the master server, but my slave sees the notifies but then throws errors stating:

DNS configuration Runabove, Linode, OVH

Hey there,

I have a problem which is mainly related to my lack of knowledge regarding DNS. Recently I've been looking at moving from my various shared hosting packages to a VPS. Obviously Virtualmin is the way to go. Obviously, after busting my brain comparing and testing all the various competitors available.

Now I have three vps systems set up. OVH is cheap and hoary. Linode is pricey but consistent. Runabove is fast and shiny and new with lots of RAM and cores and whizzy SSDs.
