Webmin

just as the title says, i would like a way to give users SFTP access but restrict them from SSHing into the server. if i only allow 1 user SSH access, the others can't use SFTP obviously because they also need that SSH access. are there any solutions here?

I have recently configured a Centos 5 web server but unfortunately it fell victim to a spam attack.

Can anybody provide some tips on how best to configure webmin to avoid this from happening again.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Since upgrading Webmin do 1.520, I've got this error everyday at 23:30 (I receive it in my mail because it's triggered by a cron task) :

Failed to run /usr/libexec/webmin/cron/tempdelete.pl : No such file or directory at /etc/webmin/cron/tempdelete.pl line 11.

1. It's annoying
2. It's a little alarming

I have configured LDAP and it's all working. The problem is when I try to use Webmin's LDAP Users and Groups module. Even with the module fully setup, the LDAP Client and Server modules are showing up great, but the Users and Groups won't show up as "installed" unless I manually adjust the /etc/webmin/installed.cache and set ldap-useradmin=1.

Hi, I have a strange problem on my Debian 5 Lenny

When I go to > Samba Windows File Sharing > Samba Users - Edit Samba users and passwords > "user-name" > Edit Samba users and passwords > New Password

Passwords with / are not accepted:

Access control violation : Failed to change password using smbpasswd :

when I go to shell and use, smbpasswd -a user-name, its no problem to use / in a password.

Can somebody help me??

With the System and Server Status module, is there a way to use the "File or Directory Change" recursive?

It seems to only detect within the specified directory and not the subdirectories.

I keep getting this error when trying to download / update the root zone. The current file has nothing in it.

Failed to re-download root zone : Failed to write to /var/named/run-root/var/named/run-root/var/named.root : Bad file descriptor

I am getting the bad file descriptor issue when creating master zones. If a master zone get created it can not find the file because it did not create it.

I am lost can anyone help?

Also why is the file being called from /var/named/run-root/var/named/run-root/var/named.root and not /var/named/run-root/var/ZONE_FILE ?

I can receive email just fine, and PHP can send mail directly through SendMail, but for some reason I can't send email over port 25 or 465 (using SSL).
