Scheduling a MySQL restore
Webmin's mysql module makes it super easy to schedule a database backup. I wish it also had a way to schedule a restore. Thank you.

Questions and discussion about Webmin or any of the services it manages.
Webmin's mysql module makes it super easy to schedule a database backup. I wish it also had a way to schedule a restore. Thank you.
If I about to move entire webserver with all settings, etc to a new hardware - what is the best way to do it?
Backups I do:
1) entire filesystem backup
2) domains backup (1 file per domain with all settings, etc)
3) webmin/virtualmin settings backup
I had to restart WEBMIN and I no longer have a useable back end.
when I select the webmin module I have the following options
Under Webmin --Change Language and Theme (nothing else-how can I manage stuff without the configuration tab?) Under System --Change Password --Running Processes --Scheduled Cron Jobs Under Server --BIND DNS Server --Read User Mail --Virtual Email Under Others --File Manager --Protected Web Directories --SSH login Under Un-Used Modules (light grey) --Scheduled Commands
I had to restart webmin this morning, it came up just fine but now I'm missing 80% of the functionality. Where did all of my modules go? I can't reinstall any of them because there is no configuration page. It is reporting only 1 GB of memory, I have 4GB installed.
How do I fix this?
Thanks
I recently found http://computerhomecall.com/ copying my entire website to http://computerhomecall.com/test
They are attempting to steal all of my content and copy it, and furthermore they ruined my database, took the site down and I had to pull in backups to get the website back up.
I found there ip address and put them in the webmin ip tables as -A INPUT -s 94.0.0.0/8 -j DROP
and -A INPUT -s 94.195.189.224 -j DROP
the control panel for an app I am using listens on port 30000. everytime i browse over to it, my IP would get temp banned for port scanning. I modified PS_PORTS to "0:29999,30001:65535,ICMP" and that problem went away.
Now, for a reason yet unknown, I still get blocked when I try to access the CP, UNLESS my IP is added to the allow list (done via a machine at another location). I have added all the processes used by this CP to csf.pignore. I also added the users they run under*
Given that I have a dynamic IP, this is quite an inconvenience.
Hi All,
I posted this to the usermin forum a few minutes ago, but I realized after posting that the most recent activity there was nearly 10 days ago, so I am re-posting here:
I installed phpmyadmin from the command line (could not find an option to install it from webmin), and then I added the phpadmin module to usermin from webmin. I am supposed to be seeing two items in my usermin menu: MySQL and MYSQL (phpadmin), but I don't see either. Are there submenus I'm supposed to be looking at? I am new a newbie to usermin, virtuamin and webmin.
HI
I have installed Webmin/Virtualmin and everything works fine. But I cant send outbound emails but can recieve them.
Subsequently even the inbound stopped working, so I switched from Postfix to Sendmail but still the same problem, no outbound email, only inbound email.
Can anyone help?
Yamin
I cannot access MySQL Database Server from within Webmin, though it is running according to the System and Server Status section. I have already reinstalled both LAMP and Webmin, yet the problem is not solved and therefore I cannot install Virtualmin as a module. This is Webmin 1.520 installed in Ubuntu 10.10 via Synaptic, and after, to access, did /usr/share/webmin/changepass.pl /etc/webmin root PASSWORD Thanks in advance.
Here is the output:
