Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

See my other issue with usermin filters in case they are related.
This post about migrating accounts from existing server into virtualmin pro.
Currently mail accounts are stored in cdb format. I can extract this (cdbdump) to have username:encryptedpassword
This is using md5. Unfortunately (for this exercise) I don't know the passwords.
It seems that the batch import into virtualmin requires plain text passwords, can this be changed?
im curious to know, how easy it would be to have virtualmin put a temporary index.html page into public_html when it creates a site and also have it replace a variable with the domain for that site? and how would i go about doing this?
Hi all,
Using Virtualmin Pro and Debian 4 etch
When i add a new server it is doing User "#1008" Group "#1008"
but it should be doing SuexecUserGroup
so how do I tell it that it is apache2 not apache?
BTW I have tried to specify 'apache2' in the 'Detect Apache Version' to no effect.
hello, i have a question and i am not sure if it is possible or not. what i would like to do is integrate webmail into my webmin / virtualmin install so that instead of going to mydomain.com/webmail/ i can just go to mydomain.com:10000/webmail/ and use a link in the webmin navbar, the reason i want to do this is because so that mail users can have that "piece of mind" of knowing that the emails they are reading are through a secure connection provided by their control panel instead of a regular HTTP connection provided by apache.
I am trying to make it so mysql users have access to only specific databases - e.g. user1 has access to db's db1 and db2, but user2 only has access to db3, and not db1 or db2.
I cannot find that section anywhere... does anyone know how I seperate what users have access to which databases?
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance
I got a slight problem here, i have everything up and running on my server and running a backup on it, its expected to take a while so im not to concerned about it, i logged in to virtualmin and found i have about 85 processes running, some of which include kjournald x5, /usr/sbin/spamd with 2 "spamd child" processes, 3x "pop3-login", 3x "imap-login", "/usr/sbin/apache2 -k start -DSSL" with 7 sub-processes identical to itself, and 3x dhclient, in that group there are 25 processes that i have listed, what i am wondering is why are there so many "identicle" processes and what can i do to decr
Hi all, I am unable to restore virtual servers on my system, I backup to an remote server via SSH. Virtualmin Version 3.42.gpl Webmin Version 1.350 Suse (SLES9)
"Restore failed : The specified source is not a Virtualmin backup : Server etc/postfix/sasl appears twice in backup directory" It does not matter if i check the retsore mail or not.
Can anyone help ? Thanks Henry
I've added another webmin server to my main virtualmin server, to function as a backup MX. It's working fine.
Under System Settings > Secundary mailservers I've set a custom hostname (mx2.mydomain),which resolves to the correct server.
When creating a new virtual server, this custom hostname gets ignored and the backup MX gets added under its 'real' hostname.
Looks like a bug.
As a workaround i've changed the hostname under Webmin > Other servers.
