Help! (Home for newbies)

I have turned on the bandwidth monitoring. It obviously marks every packet sent or received and uses firewall rules for that. But that functionality didn't make any log-rotation to that bandwidth log file and now it keeps on growing even though this isn't even on production yet.

So how does that function work and can I make my own log-rotation for it?

Hi

I have recently setup virutalmin pro and can send and receive emails form the server, but I cannot retrieve emails using MS outlook

the message I get it the server is found but there is no responce from the server?

Can anyone please enliten me on how to retrieve emails?

I'm not sure what's going on here. I've had Virtualmin/webmin installed on my site for MONTHS without any difficulties whatsoever. Suddenly this afternoon I tried to access virtualmin and got this message:

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at eviscerati.net:10000.

I actually rebooted the server, which fixed the problem temporarily, but eventually the message came back.

I am new to virtualmin... and I can't figure out how to install a webmail system like IMP Horde on the server... I'm sure it's just like installing a module or something, but does anyone know?

Hello again.

I've been looking around for a fix for my problem but no luck yet, so here I am.

I've got a VirtMin 3.40 PRO install and I'm having a problem with changing the server owner passwords. When I do the website goes 403 and this shows up in the apache_errorlog: code:1Permission denied: /home/urldeletedforprivacy/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable[/code:1] Problem that stumps the heck out of me is that this file is not there, I can create it but it doesn't help the problem.

Despite MANY searches, I can't find a comparison of the GPL and Professional versions. Is there one I've missed?

Hello How Are you? i normaly instaled virtualmin to redhad9 webmin server. Before install apache was working and it is new os server. After instalation dns and mysql working but ftp and apache gave error. apacher error is this: Failed to start apache : Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 950 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: The address or port is invalid [FAILED]

Hi Joe, I know this is a little bit beyond anything like your responsibility, but I'm hoping you will help me. I just bought two $69 Virtual Min licenses, one for testing, one for real hosting.

The one I bought for real hosting at a server at layeredtech has me a bit out beyond what I know. I installed the install.sh on the centos 4.x server without problem, but I don't know how to set up the name servers such that I can point to them from Godaddy my registrar.

Maybe you can provide some advice or help? I know very little about dns and bind.

I am looking at trying out Virtualmin for the first time, what's the prefered *nix distro to use? I do most of my work on FreeBSD but I realize from reading these forums, that it's support is rather new. I am hoping to test it with what the developers prefer to use themselves.
