Hey,

I'm wondering what I can do to stop database prefix ... 'collisions' if you like. The problem with how it is currently, is that virtual servers with the same sub-domain will have the same database prefix.

For example, if I create 'foobar.example.com' it's database prefix will be 'foobar_' (this is with it set to ${PREFIX}_), however the domain 'foobar.zomg.com' will also have the same prefix.

What would be better, is to have the prefix for sub-servers also be prefixed with the initial account name.

The Installation Script hangs right after:

"Installing Virtualmin and all related packages..."

Seams that the apt-get hangs, any ideas?

I install on a freshly installed Debian 4 Virtual Machine in VirtualBox 1.5.2

Failed to start service :

• Starting ftp server proftpd
• IPv4 getaddrinfo 'server' error: Name or service not known
• warning: unable to determine IP address of 'server'
• error: no valid servers configured
• Fatal: error processing configuration file '/etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf' ...fail!

I have started to have email issues with some of our Virtual Domain clients.

Users in the same Virtual Server / domain are starting to get the following email bounce back messages:

<user.userdomain@hostname.hostdomain.com> (expanded from <user@userdomain.com>): can't create user output file

Can anyone advise how do I open up port 8080 for tomcat I have installed on the Virtualmim AMI image I have setup on Amazon AWS?

Found this : 1) Launch your AMI 2) Log in 3) Wget the lastest tomcat for your version of OS 4) Untar it into /usr/local : tar -xzvf tomcat...tar.gz -C /usr/local 5) Update the web.xml file to use the hostname not localhost 6) Open the port (if necessary) in the AMI security group 7) start tomcat 8) Connect from your local browser

.. But dont know how I do step 6) and if this is the problem or some setting from virtualmin.

I installed VirtualMin Pro and have it running reasonably well.

After I logged on tonight I received the following warning:

A problem was detected with your Virtualmin license : An error occurred checking the licence : Missing serial number

How do I apply the license number? The docs talk about a perl script called add-licence.pl for VM2 but that does not appear to exist in v3.54

I have Virtualmin running on Fedora Core 7 and having the following issue. When I create a user "john" for a virtual server the username is as follow: jonh.domainname

I'm trying to find out what I need to edit so the .domainname does not get append to the username.

Hi people, Keep getting this error - can't seem to find a way around it: "ERROR: in use - couldn't sync mailbox" It is only one of many mailboxes on this Vserver all others send/rec no trouble.

Hi, Running a gpl VM on a Debian 4 , all fine, installed from a fresh system via script. All is working fine. But .. my sql is invisible to scripts like joomla, same goes for imap. The user created by virtualmin had no permission in webmin-mysql server, i've corrected manually the issue,but nothing, still the same problem. I tried to manually install a script in the base apache www root with my root credentials, nothing, sql seems dead, but is running fine. Any ideas about this issue on Debien ech?

Just ran the pro install on a clean fedora 8 system and it threw up a whole raft of errors failing to create directories such as etc/webmin/virtual-server, etc/webmin/domain-template etc but ran to completion.

The virtualmin-install.log says it succeeded but it does not work. Lots of the virtualmin menu options are missing and although I can create a virtual domain it cannot be deleted giving errors like: Failed to delete virtual servers : Domain 120584080131970 does not exist!

Not a very promising start. Any ideas
