Email_Prefix
Hi..
I have problem with email prefixes. When I add new email to domain (ex.test.com), then virtualmin creates a new system user - newuser.test. It is possible to turn off this prefix so the newuser will be just newuser?

Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Hi,
Don't know if this is where to post a question about VM GPL. I've installed the module fine on Ubuntu Gutsy but when I do the configuration check, I get:
A problem was found with your Postfix virtual maps : No map sources were found in the Postfix configuration
Hi all,
I just ran an update to my Virtualmin server and it got through one update and hung and now when I try to update I just get errors and now I cant add any more domains either. The domains that are already on the server seem to still be working. Here is the errors I get now when I try to update: Now updating webmin-security-updates ..
Installing package(s) with command apt-get -y --force-yes -f install webmin-security-updates ..
.. install failed!
Now updating webmin-virtualmin-awstats ..
We are facing a strange problem: awstats and webalizer report that there were no visitors at certain days (see the following snapshot) [img size=300]http://www.virtualmin.com/components/com_fireboard/uploaded/images/awsta... Webalizer reports exactly the same. This is obviously an error...
Any ideas what we should do in order to fix it?

When I go to add a Virtual Server (VS) to my system, I am give the following choices: - Top-level server - Sub-server - Alias of mydomain.com - Sub-domain of mydomain.com
Initially I presumed, partially from reading in the Webmin books (I got both!) that these were basically the Apache "virtual hosts". But clearly they are much richer than that, having system level logins, sftp, svn, mail and so on.
I got my new server with Virtualmin Pro working about a month ago. immediately after getting it setup, I was able to get several virtual servers setup and working properly. Now though, any time I transfer a domain to a VS setup on my server, the domain does not work. (i.e., I had a domain pointing to another server, I created an account on my server, and switched the nameservers with my registrar to my server. now, when I try to go to that url, I get an error that the server could not be found). When I test any of these domains on intodns, I get the following error:
Hey,
I have customized the .bashrc file that is used for new accounts (in /etc/skel), such as changing the bash promt. This works fine when adding new users via 'adduser' however, when adding a new Virtual Server with Webmin/Virtualmin it seems that the .bashrc file is not applied to the new user.
If I SSH in as that new user, I get the default promt, running '. ~/.bashrc' updates it, however logging out and logging back in resets it.

Alex
I managed to get everything now if sending email arrives but I have a problem with fqdn I did not understand what I have to put it returns this in the logs
Have searched the forums as well as have poured over the config screens and docs, and am not getting my head around this.... I know it will end up being something simple.
VirtuaMin is running perfectly. Fantastic application.
When I Add a New Virtual Server, it ends up assigning a static IP and port 80 to the Virtual Host in Apache. Am trying to find the settings to assign "any" and "any" to the Virtual Host in Apache.
Help anyone?

Hi,
I'm running eAccelerator on my server, and it's caching scripts for the virtual servers running PHP as apache under mod_php. However, for the sites/virtualservers running PHP as owner under FCGId, eAccelerator is not caching scripts.
I know it should work, I have seen several references to it being possible & optimal:
