When trying to send e-mail from my local machine through my remote Virtualmin server I was denied because I was unable to authenticate myself. When I looked in /var/log/mail.log I could see the following message:
I am unable to receive e-mail from the outside world. The e-mail doesn't bounce back nor do I get any indication that it failed to go through. When I look at /var/log/mail.log there is nothing to indicate my Virtualmin domain knew an e-mail had been sent to it.
Now that I have things working I need to address SSL or maybe not.
For now I have turned off SSL in Usermin and opened up port 20000 for webmail. I will probably add SSL to WEbmin to at lest cover thee admin in cas we ever decide to allow traffice to port 10000 (WE administer the email and sites for the handful of domains on the server)
A few weeks ago, I had no problems creating Virtual Servers for top-level domains.
Now, I just registered a new domain and it failed. Curious, I deleted one of my Virtual Servers that I wasn't really using and recreated it. It didn't work.
The problem is that it must be pointing them to some other location besides /home/domainName/public_html/. To test this, I did:
$ echo "PLEASE WORK!!!" > /home/domainName/public_html/index.html
and then loaded up the site. I still just see the "Index of /" page that shows the awstats-icon and icon folders.
Hello!
First details:
Linux - Debian 4.0
Installed automatic from install.sh.
I don't like to view all system files when log on ftp virtual server user. So clicked "Limits and validation -> FTP directory restrictions" then Actived to all virtual servers and choosen "Users' home directories" in Restrict to directory. Now when I log on ftp from one of virtual server user I see correct folders: awstats, cgi-bin, etc, homes, logs and public_html.
I can open all folders without important public_html!
I have a new install of Virtualmin Pro no errors at bootup or login

Hello.
I started off with clean Centos 5.2 Install (no apache, mysql, )
I downloaded the setup script and ran it. I do plan on registering this, just trying this out to get basic hang of it.
Once done, I updated my test domain to point to it.
I updated my godaddy dns record to point the the public shared ip
setup dmain as a virtual server
created a user connected via local vtp and upload simple html page can view it viw web browser on remote link. When I try and send an email from Yahoo I get error :
I am trying to get a handle on the system load imposed by a particular site on the host computer where I'm using VM GPL 3.65. Top and the sysstat logs show 0% cpu idle at all times. This seems implausible. The site is quite low traffic now but will go into high gear in a couple of months. Does anyone have an idea to perhaps use some other tool? Or is this a known problem?
