Help! (Home for newbies)

Hi vm forum! When I was setting up a new server - for good reason some of the first packages I installed were webmin & virtualmin. However, I'm trying to install httpd-devel and I am getting the following issue:

Although I tried to follow everything I found on this site, website doesn't work :(

I followed these steps and waited over 48h but still:

in my registrar Namecheap I registered 2 nameservers: ns1.mysite.com 11.111.111.11 ns2.mysite.com 22.222.222.22

I then did a transfer to own host with same values as above still in Namecheap.

Next, in virtualmin under mysite.com that already worked fine with a simple A record (just for the record :)

Now installing Ghost version 0.5.1 .. HTTP/1.0 500 Perl execution failed Server: MiniServ/1.701 Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2014 19:14:39 GMT Content-type: text/html; Charset=iso-8859-1 Connection: close Error - Perl execution failed

Undefined subroutine &virtual_server::allocate_mongrel_port called at /etc/webmin/virtual-server/latest-scripts/ghost.pl line 151.

Is this a known issue?

howdy folks,

i am having an issue with wordpress sending out registration emails.

i haven't configured email in any way.

the emails are sitting in the postfix mail queue.

the emails in the queue show that they are being sent

from my host name regardless of what virtual domain it has been sent from.

perhaps this helpful.

How would I setup to redirect https to a sub-domain/sub-server/alias. I've made a virtual server say example.com, so http://www.example.com. I can create an alias so secure.example.com points to same directory as example.com and www.example.com. And I guess I can turn on SSL so and have a certificate with www. and secure.. Is there anyway to just have SSL on secure.example.com and not enable it for www.example.com?

i continue to have problems with excessive "/usr/bin/php-cgi" processes running.

i have the csf firewall running - any recommendations what is the best approach to block excessive php-cgi processes from running at any one time?

Hi, I have virtualmin websites working now because I had the registrar A records pointing at my main host IP v4 and v6 with name vps74333.ovh.net. It is a vps cloud from OVH: https://www.ovh.com/fr/vps/vps-cloud.xml Based on a lamp install with debian7, also virtualmin was installed fresh with the script.

this is not a real virtualmin thing, but maybe you can help me...

On my server, curl or wget are not able to connect. So sites that need info from other sites just hang until they time out.

Something is writing all the time to iptables (might be fail2ban? as I had to install that when the server was ddos attacked). But I'll include the output of iptables -L here anyway.

How do I find out what is causing this?

I tried Googling this and found people talking about a script being implemented for Virtualmin to install node.js... But when I look on the Scripts section I do not see it there?

Could anyone provide some assistance on how to setup node.js on the same server as Virtualmin?
