Determining IP number from php-cgi process

hello - last week eric was kind enough to explain that each php-cgi process is somebody accessing a website

https://www.virtualmin.com/node/35106

is there any way to determine an IP number for each php-cgi process running? i didnt see anything in the log files that would tie a logfile entry to a php-cgi process.

thank you very much.

SSL Certificate

Hi! I am about to get a client who needs a SSL certification on his domain, in order to use https:// properly without that warning from the browser.

Is there any "how to" so I can follow and properly add the certificate to his domain wich is in my Virtualmin ???

Thank you !

Email being forwarded to root / not being redirected

Hi there,

I have installed VirtualMin and then transferred to it a number of cPanel websites. These cPanels had email accounts and alias emails.

I can see in my VirtuamMin that all of the email accounts are listed including the aliases. For example, help@domain.ext gets redirected to my gmail account.

So I am sending test emails to see if it works and so far I have not luck with emails not being redirected. They are basically lost.

emails being rejected by remote server - invalid DNS PTR resource record

I am moving to a new VPS with more RAM (1Gb on CentOS 6.6 32bit). And so far most things work fine with the first domain moved. I can receive mails - but when I send a mail it gets stuck in the postfix mail queue:

host mx01.emig.gmx.net[213.165.67.97] refused to talk to me: 554-gmx.net (mxgmx112) Nemesis ESMTP Service not available 554-No SMTP service 554 invalid DNS PTR resource record

Is that related to a wrong MX server setup? My details similar to:

Postfix: "Relay access denied" in maillog when I get email from outside (ex: gmail, yahoo)

Hi All,

I have done many of installation Virtualmin using installer (install.sh) and all works fine.

But few day ago I have installed a new server but I get error on Postfix. I can send email to inside or to outside server but cannot received a email from outside my server (for example, I send test email from gmail to a email address in my server and I get error) Here the log in maillog:

mail.domain.com instead of domain.com/webmail

Hello- I have a domain that has been setup and running for years. The client has created a new web site and wants to host it elsewhere, keeping their email with me.

I used to have a sysadmin who handled this for me, but no longer do and he's busy and tough to get a hold of, so I'm learning on the fly.

What I need to do: - set things up so that it's no longer domain.com/webmail but rather webmail.domain.com - make sure existing email is not compromised in the process.

How do I move this sub-server properly?

Suppose I have 2 web servers:

Web Server I (WS1)

  • Virtual server: aaa.example.com
  • Sub-server: example.org

Web Server II (WS2)

  • Virtual server: bbb.example.com
  • Sub-server: -

What is the best way to move the sub-server: example.org, from WS1 to WS2, and make it exist as a sub-server of bbb.example.com?

When I use the restore option on WS2, I get this error:

Should I be afraid of system updates?

New to VirtualMin, so I have a few questions about system updates for the server hosting VirtualMin.

The server I am now responsible for is CentOS 6.4 with just stock and the VirtualMin repos. Unfortunately the server hasn't been updated lately and currently yum check-update reveals about 400 packages that need updated.
