Is it possible to intall Virtualmin on a linux mint 17? here is what I got tryig to install:

INFO - Download of http://software.virtualmin.com/lib/os_list.txt Succeeded. Failed to detect operating system

My VPS originally had two IPs. The system, the Virtualmin installation and the hosted sites were all on one IP. My host had a problem with its vlan bridge causing the node I was on to go down - it had been up for a year. When it came up, I found my host had given me an extra IP with a lower number in the last 3 digits, and everything moved around. The system, linux installation was on one IP, the Virtualmin installation on another, and my hosted sites on the third address.

I know Virtualmin produces an SHA-1 CSR. I've found a vendor that accepts that but provides an SHA-2 Certificate. Will Virtualmin support that certificate?

I got Virtualmin installed last night. After uploading my new site, the pages were NOT acting right.

1) The single pic on each web page showed as a broken link. It wldn't load.

2) My style sheet seemed unaccessible as there was no style to my pages. (this is intermittent)

And strangest of all, I can eliminate the above by forcing pages to use the https protocol.

hello, i'm new to the whole linux and web hosting thing, i managed to install webmin and virtualmin on my VPS hosting and i managed to host a wordpress website, all that with the help of google of course, i have few questions that i want to ask because i still don't know some stuff and could not find answers on the internet, 1- i don't see the option where it says, FTP and emails on my virtualmin, i have no idea what is my FTP login info and what if i need to install FTP program in my virtualmin or not, i managed to install wordpress using file manager,

My system is CentOS 6.5 i386, when I start Virtualmin GPL as the Guide: http://www.webmin.com/vinstall.html, I used three lines command: wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh chmod +x install.sh ./install.sh

I'm trying to enable SSL logins for Webmin. I'm following the instructions here: http://webmin.com/ssl.html and here: http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/SecuringWebmin#SSL_Encryption

OpenSSL was already installed by default and so was Net::SSLeay. If I run perl -e 'use Net::SSLeay' I get no error message. SSL is enabled.

I am living in VPS world due to virtualmin. A fantastic panel.

I was experimenting to install ngnix on virtualmin and it is working fine. (my box is using CentOS 6.5 64 Bit)

But there is a problem, I am unable to open usermin webmail/mail using :20000.

The browser shows

Google Chrome's connection attempt to ***************** was rejected. The website may be down or your network may not be properly configured.

I ran into a strange problem today with my website. Normally non-SSL requests get re-directed to SSL and everything is wonderful, but it just stopped working.

I have a .htaccess file in my public_home directory, and I also have webmin configured to re-direct incoming non SSL traffic to SSL. I thought I could just disable it, and delete the .htaccess file to temporarily allow web traffic to my site on port 80, but you still can’t get through.

I need to be able to setup several sites but only use 1 public_html folder for example:-

sitea.com ip 1.2.3.4 /home/sitea/public_html/

siteb.com ip 1.2.3.5 /home/sitea/public_html/ shared ip

sitec.com ip 1.2.3.5 /home/sitea/public_html/ shared ip

sited.com ip 1.2.3.6 /home/sitea/public_html/

The sites that have thier own ip will need to have their own SSL snd the shared will need to have shared SSL
