Help! (Home for newbies)

Hi, this is my first serious attempt at this kind of set-up so please stay with me here. I post this directly in CloudMin forum but got no response but maybe it should be going here instead. if this post is too big I can split it up, how ever at the moment I am not sure what my real issue is or what it is with (except for being a noob to the nth degree <>)

What I am trying to do:

I followed this document: https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/web/faq

Now when I goto webmail.domain.org it forwards to port 10000 to virtualmin and that could't be further than what I intended. webmail.domain.org has never forwarded to the domain I put in either. I'm not really sure what I can be doing wrong, the instructions seem straightforward. Thank you.

I know that Lubunru 14.04 is not on the list of 'Grade A supported Operating Systems" but I started a clean installation of Lubuntu 14.04 and the Virtualmin installation went smooth as if it was a regular Ubuntu 14.04. One of the problems I’m having is that I can not change the upload_max_size, even after changing it on /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini and /etc/php5/cli/php.ini. phpMyadmin keeps showing (Max: 2,048KiB) in the import file section. any ideas please? I can't import my databases.

BTW I also changed, memory_limit and post_max_size, but no luck.

Hello all, I am trying to start PROFTPD and get the following error;

Failed to start service :

• Starting ftp server proftpd /usr/sbin/proftpd: error while loading shared libraries: libmemcached.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ...fail!

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and am having a nightmare.. A quick search on this file yields no results, it doesn't exist on our systems. I'm not exactly adept with Ubuntu, but am getting there. This is a live and busy site too.

How can I make Mailman appear on the Services menu for a Virtual Server login?

I've tried changing the plan to enable all 'Allowed virtual server features' but that doesn't do it. I'd like the Virtual Server login to enable full Mailman facilities for that server's domain.

Some command from the VirtualMin API doesn't seem to work when my script is launch by a 'Scheduled Cron Jobs'... any idea ?

My script is working perfectly if I launch it from :

• ssh command, as root, like : sh /home/d7/myscript.sh
• in the WebMin > Scheduled Cron Jobs, when I "Run" manually.

Don't work completely when I scheduled it, via 'Scheduled Cron Jobs' option. In fact, all my command with VirtualMin API are skipped !

Do I understand correctly that postfix, uses port 25 to send out all email from the server itself, plus all the domains created on the server?

And, it also uses Port 25 to listen for email that comes in from the internet in general for all the domains that reside on the server?

My hosting service just moved my VPS from one machine to another, i.e., the IP address changed. The one issue I am fighting is that I cannot access my website - when I try, I get the Horde login page.

Poking around, I foudn something suspicious and would like your guidance.

I have static IP. I have bellsouth dsl ( AT&T) ( They block port 25). Older Hp Pc,, Installed Centos 6.6 (pc was not 64 bit capable) Used install.sh to install Virtualmin. Set up my domain name, Pointed to my server. set up my base domain.

Everything seems to be found fine.

Setting up other domains,
DNS all seems fine.

my problem. is that virtual min does not seem to be able to send email when it sets up a domain.

I did have it set to email out the domain details to the account owner. (me) but that is not happening.

hello all - i forgot where i documented this before. i wish to migrate my VS without moving any of the data. as i recall the command was something like this:

virtualmin backup-domain --domain edwardsmark.com --dest ~/x.x --all-features ;

but this is moving everything, and i dont want to move the data.
