Help! (Home for newbies)

Firstly let me begin by saying that I'm a complete Virtualmin noob. In fact today is the first time I've ever used it - trying to help someone sort an issue out.

Hi, i setup Ubuntu 14 and installed Virtualmin, i added a site using cpanel migration option.

the virtual host page shows local ip 127.0.0.2 instead of the server IP, i then changed the IP address, deleted the account and created it again, but still when i open the domain in browser it opens my PC locahost.

This is one of 2 issues I see for user created by Virtualmin. The other issue might fall under a different topic for a user that I created then deleted for the same ftp issue. Now I get : Failed to save mailbox : Missing or invalid home directory for that user. Are these issues specifically related? Plus, how do I resolve this so content can be uploaded?

I have a server where home folder (where all the sites are) is about 50GB in size, /var/log is around 25GB (I have to keep a lot of logs) and /backup folder is also around 25GB.

Server currently has around 80GB of free space on the disk, backup type is set to incremental and it is kept for 3 days.

My problem is that when this backup is in progress, home folder begins to grow and eventually becomes twice as large (100+ GB), as the backup process is coming to an end. When the backup is finished /home folder returns to his original size of 50GB.

Hi! I want to do basic password protection on a site. This page http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/tutorial/how-to-password-protect... suggests it is easy to do, but it seem to be out of date or something. The option Services > Protected Directories doesn't exist.

If I go to Services > Configure Website > Per-Directory Options > Access Control

then I get something that looks like it might do the trick, but I can't get it to work.

Hi, I installed virtualmin first time in my life,

I should transfer several wordpress sites to this server, every site belong to different user and they should have access to their sites and ftp and emails (in the future), etc. connected with their domains. so, it is similar like vps for hosting company, with virtualmin.

for now, I uploaded files of 2 sites in /var/www/html

I uploaded all databases with phpmyadmin,

Generally I am very happy with SpamAssassin. But it's not scanning, or handling large emails. I have an issues were emails with large attachments (seems over 500Kb) do not get checked at all. Even though the senders email is on the "Denied addresses" list - it still goes into the IN box.

Is there a way to handle that?

I have an Ubuntu 14.04 server set up with LDAP authentication for Virtualmin. I would like to pre-populate the Maildir directory with the basic mail folder (spam, trash, etc.). To do this, I created the folders in the /etc/skel directory and created another, empty /etc/skel.dom directory and set the new domain template directory to that. However, when new users are created, the contents of the /etc/skel directory are not copied.

I'm having a problem with CPU usage. While website performance is fine, i'm having trouble with e-mails because of the High CPU usage caused by xorg(even though the server is set for init3), and clamscan seems to be running high. the server is only dual core so that 6 and 7 CPU usage is pretty degrading as far as e-mail. i actually just received a few e-mails from the server that were sent on the 9th of May, but just delivered today.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

As my server is fairly small and does not change frequently, I intend to do daily full Filesystem Backups from Webmin.

Is there any advantage to backing up virtual servers through Virtualmin instead / as well?
