http Access Stops (FirewallD Bug Report Maybe)

Forums:

Hi,

I have a VPS with CentOS Linux 7.2.1511 & Virtualmin 5.04.gpl & Webmin 1.821. For unclear reasons, the http access to websites stops suddenly while the https to websites access is OK. I have set up FirewallD with http service so that when I click Apply Configuration problem goes away. Yet it happens again after a while, no idea why.

Any idea where to look at or is this some sort of bug?

Thanks Carbar

Upgrading MySql to 5.2

Forums:

Hello:

I am running CentOS Linux 6.8, Virtualmin 5.04, Webmin 1.810

Updates are current.

MySql is on version 5.1.73-7.el6

PCI compliance (Trans Armor) is asking for a minimum of 5.2 for MySql. Will this be updated in Virtualmin soon, or can / should I update MySql outside of Virtualmin?

Thanks,

Bill56

Trying to upgrade to 1.820 - response: webmin is already the newest version (1.810).

Forums:

Hi

I'm trying to upgrade webmin on 2 servers, but I'm told I already have the latest version. Response is: webmin is already the newest version (1.810).

It's on ubuntu 16.04 and Debian 8. I have 2 other servers that also runs Debian 8, who updated to 1.820 without issues. What can cause this?

The 2 who updated are VPS from hetzner The 2 who don't update are dedicated servers from hetzner

Is Webmin "plug and play"?

Forums:

Hi everyone, I'm needing a control panel for my VPS and I don't have too much time to spend setting up the software. What I would like to know before anything is that if Webmin is like Cpanel, in the way the services come ready to use by giving it a couple parameters like domain and nameservers during the install. Is Webmin able to handle this in the same way or I will have to run a manual setup for every service software? Thanks in advance.

Fail2ban config

Forums:

Ubuntu 16.04.1 Webmin 1.820

For some reason (default behavior?) Fail2Ban didn't configure itself upon install to protect any services (not even SSH).

I had to configure it and I would like to know if this config looks proper. It should protect apache, webmin, ftp and ssh. It only works for ssh (this one I could test for). Even so, is it properly configured?

Here's the conf: https://pastebin.com/u3yh5jBp

TIA
