How to add a 2nd IP address?
Hello,
I have a dedicated server which has two IP addresses. The first IP is already assigned during installation as default.
How do I assign the second IP address to the system?
Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.
Hello,

I do not find myself to be a newbie to anything other than Virtualmin/Webmin so I began by posting in this group area.
I have been testing the Webmin/Virtualmin now for a couple of months. Have three domains on the new server during this test that worked flawlessly. I just began this weekend pulling the trigger and moving sites over to this new server when I noticed a new oddity.
Hallo. I am currently starting to accustom myself to the way Virutalmin works and I got a problem today.
I would like to create an account with the address sub.domain.com and then add a domain to the same account (mydomain2.com) so the site can be reachable from both addresses.
How can I accomplish this task?
Regards, Rebrain.
Tried to create my first server but it failed due to Outgoing address mapping file for Postfix (sender_connical_maps). The page says to configure it in the modules area but I can't find where to do so and probably have no idea what to set it to.
Any clues?
tony
Hi, I'm using OpenSuse 11.
I was just using Virtualmin to create a vhost named "local-magento". Creation went fine, but I'd like to adress it my browser via localhost.local-magento.de.
It doesn't work of course, but I don't know why. I just want to use the new domain locally only, so it's not a productive server.
Adressing the domain by 192.0.0.2 for example works well.
So how can I adress the domain by name?
Hope you understand what my problem is ...
Not sure if this has anything to do with Virtualmin...
I have a PHP application that is encrypted, so I cannot modify the code.
It is running in a virtual server, as user www1. When this php app uploads a file, it is given the ownership of www1.
Is there a way in virtualmin to tell the virtual server what owner it should be running as so I can change the ownership of these uploaded files?
Thanks,
And sorry if this does not pertain to VirtualMin, I have been looking at other options and wonder if this is one of them.
I just installed VM and gave it a local FQDN (linux1.local). However, in rethinking things, I think it would serve me better to use something like linux1.ez-ms.com and have it be a valid host to the world.
Where can I change this installed value BEFORE I startup VM for the first time? Or, can it be changed after it is first run?
thanks, tony
Hi,
I am currently attempting to use the AMI that was published by Virtualmin and am having very little luck. I had to do some tweaks to mailman to get it to work and now for some reason the internal dns is not working.
What i mean is i have the domain pointed to the IP for the instance. Which from my understanding virtualmin should be able to determine the hostname coming in to properly direct traffic to the right content, well its not working.
Any help would be appreciated.
Admittedly, I haven't read all the docs yet and have not yet purchased the pro version (but is my intent)....
It appears from what I've read so far that several things in virtualmin expect the primary DNS server to be local. I.e. resident on that machine.
Is this really true, or am I misunderstanding?
thanks, tony
hello to all, i'm a newbie in virtualmin and i've installed on debian4.0 rc4 webmin and virtmin from .deb packs in GPL version; i want to make a really good server from this machine but all my hops are broken, why? after install, set up, when i activate procmail in "mailbox_command" in postfix, the server sayed:
"fatal: connect #11 to subsystem private//usr/bin/procmail : No such file or directory"and my mails on the relay from root to root and from other alias set to root were bounced and removed; after i unactivate the proc mail from postfix
