Help! (Home for newbies)

Seems that webmin is doing something every 5 minutes which is causing an error in the error_log.

Anyway to have it NOT do that? Make the error log long and messy and prevents easily finding real errors.

Ok while I'm loving virtualmin so far, there's a couple things that I'm beginning to find a bit annoying and wondering if there's some simple solutions for. I've attempted working with configuring both server templates and module configuration and can't seem to get a workable result for either of my issues.

First problem. Virtualmin seems to be totally incapable of creating a server (virtual host) under an already existing username. I'm curious as to why it wouldn't allow that? Doesn't seem as though something like that would really be that tough.

I have a very strange issue that has occured today, and is only affecting a single domain (there are 20 odd domains on this server - this domain is the only on with a problem with email).

Error message in email being sent to domain are (this from yahoo): <test@mydomain.co.uk>: 12.34.56.78 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 554 5.7.1 <test@mydomain.co.uk>: Relay access denied Giving up on 12.34.56.78.

I have things setup to create new servers as an alias in 'ez-ms.com'.

I created a new server 'test.com' and have a 'test.ez-ms.com' server.

When I use phpMyAdmin and login at 'test', 'test' has access to all databases within 'ez-ms.com'. I have not tried a second sub-domain yet to see if that user has access to 'ez-ms.com' and the other aliases within 'ez-ms'.

Did I miss something in the configuration setup? I would not expect the user 'test' (associated with 'test.com') to have permissions within 'ez-ms.com'.

What did I miss?

I was trying to install eTicket into a domain. I specified to use 'eticket' under the public_html directory.

However, when the installer runs, I get this error: "Failed to extract source : Sub-directory eticket-1.7.2 was not found"

Any idea what I can do to get this installed?

I have a default database creations setup. In this example it is ezms_cart (I.e. ${USER}cart. This works perfectly. I do not currently have a "new database prefix" set (and this may be my problem). I have changed my template to have this set as ${USER}.

However, when I go to install a new script in a virtual server, there does not seem to be an option (I'm sure it's something with my config) to have it create a new database by a different name. I.e. for roundcube (example) it creates the roundcube database as "ezms_cart_rouncube".

Is there any way to have the output of a script displayed as part of the info displayed at server creation? It seems to not be captured. It would be helpful to know that it ran successfully or not.<br><br>Post edited by: tbirnseth, at: 2008/11/20 07:48

I'm not able to receive mail to a valid recipient. The log entries from /var/logs/maillog are below. I remember that when I first set this up I had an error about no canonical maps and set it to 'hash:/etc/postfix/virtual' for address mapping, recipient name and sender name lookups.

How can I correct whatever is wrong?

Hi,

We have a daily backup via SSH to a remote server, which used to work just fine. Suddenly, the backup directory's are being created but absolutely nothing is being put inside of them.

What log files should I be checking for errors? I have access to both the virtualmin server and the backup ssh server.
