Help! (Home for newbies)

Hi there guys, i have a question i hope you can help me!

I am running a CentOS 6 x86 and i wish to install Virtualmin on it with Webmin, GPL version (for now).

I am making a new vps to host my websites, I need to set my hostname correctly. I dont know very well how to do it, the default hosting provider gave me one vps with the name already set eg: vps.domain.com.

I made a fresh registration on Godaddy.com for a TLD in order to use it to set this to mine eg: vps.mydomain.com and i have made the registration of ns1 and ns2.mydomain.com pointing to the given Ip's.

I just wonder if Webmin can be setup so I can use it as a VPN/proxie server when I travel in China?

In China you usually get free Wifi in hotels etc, but many sites (youtube, facebook, currently even google!) can't be accessed in China.

Is there a way to setup Webmin to get around that?

Hello, Does anyone have Horde Groupware running with virtualmin? on Ubuntu? Is it possible to request install script for Horde Groupware, like there is one for RoundCube?

Hello, I installed virtualmin and webmin to my VPS, I understand how to create virtual servers but I need some help.

I'd like to make it so virtual server users/owners can only access their virtual server home directory when using FTP or any other file manager. Right now they're able to access the rest of the server files.

Any help would be appreciated.

For unknown reasons Spamassassin stopped scanning incoming emails and one of my old POP boxes getting flooded with SPAM.

I am on a VPS CentOS 5.2 Webmin version 1.660
Virtualmin version 4.08.gpl GPL SpamAssassin version 3.3.1

When I do 'top' in putty I see spamd running.

As the title says, cannot do it for a subserver...

On the main server I went to "system settings" -> "features and plugins" and enabled spam and virus filtering. Both spamassassin and clavmav services are running.

On the main server I went to "Edit virtual server" and under "enabled features" I enabled these two. These are not displayed in the subserver.

Then, when I go to "Edit users" in the subserver and click on my email user, I can see this:

Check email for spam and viruses? No (disabled for virtual server)

I am attempting to create a shell script which will change the main domains of most of the vhosts on my server to a more friendly format. Part of doing this will require changing the listed Home directory, HTML directory, and CGI directory for each changed vhost.

I am aware of how to make these changes using the Virtualmin GUI, but I want to be able to automate the process in my shell script. My question is: Is doing this from a shell script possible and, if so, how do I do it?

Hey, i enabled greylisting through virtualmin. I tried sending mail from gmail to my server and in maillog it says : Jun 30 13:21:21 eimantas milter-greylist: (unknown id): skipping greylist because this is the default action,

How do i need to enable greylisting so it would greylist the message from the recipient for 1 time and on 2nd time it should be whitelisted?

I checked my greylist.conf and i see the option: racl whitelist default

i can change it to racl greylist default but then it would be greylisted all the time.

hi Folks,

im running a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server with virtualmin.
I set up quota for my virtual server an users, it works.

Then i created a user for every-day-work, not member of any server group.
I didn't set any quota for this user.

arpo@hetzner:~$ quota
Disk quotas for user arpo (uid 1000): none
[/code]

But if I try to create a new folder:

arpo@hetzner:~$ mkdir bla
mkdir: cannot create directory `bla': Disk quota exceeded
[/code]

It i stop quota with "service quota stop" i can create files!
