Help! (Home for newbies)

Hello Virtualmin users!

I have just installed virtualmin a couple of days ago and I love it, so a big thanks to the team. I have a client who wants to be migrated from hostgator which is using cPanel. He has one cpanel account with some dubdomains and some add-on domains. Some of the add-on domains have subdomains point to them.

I have managed to migrate the cpanel accout over and have used the comman-line utility to restore the accounts (Username and password removed.

I am not able to start the service after rebooting the machine.

I cannot access the webmin/virtualmin console with the following url - https://domain.com:10000

As soon as I do that, the entire server becomes unresponsive.

I am currently running two websites on a vserver. As an example:

www.alpha.com (/home/alpha/htdir) & www.beta.com (/home/beta/htdir)

My server IP is 1.2.3.4

Now, when someones accesses my IP he is redirected to /home/alpha/htdir which belongs to www.alpha.com

okey, the network looks like this wan/ISP<->router<->server (<-> webserver) the dns client is installed on server, not on the virtual webserver.

this is the error.. May 29 20:53:19 webservern postfix/smtp[5003]: 330E3123EFB: to=, relay=none, delay=84411, delays=84391/0.06/20/0, dsn=4.4.3, status=deferred (Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=gmail.com type=MX: Host not found, try again)

im been running virtualmin for a long time now, not working so much with it when it works perfecty.. however email..

using wordpress in a subserverdomain, trying to send php forms to gmail and it does not work. its telling me its been send but can find it in gmail and cant find where the logs are. nothing in apache logs :(

i tried using smtp plugin but its the same... so im thinking.. where should i begin to search? do i need to open specific ports for outgoing trafic like 495 for ssl to gmail?

I have my own nameservers hosted on my new vps. I have set up a subdomain and uploaded many files there (ftp connects and shows files no problem). The organization is /home/maindomain and /home/subdomain. both have public_html in them. First, does this look right?

When I try to load my domain.tld I get message: Forbidden. You don't have permission to access / on this server.

And when I try subdomain.domain.tld I get simple "firefox cant find server"

Where should I be looking for errors?

We've got a client who's set their internal network up with the same TLD as their external domain. The client is unwilling to re-do their internal network to industry standards best practices using a subdomain, and consequently they are unable to access the website from inside their network. I understand that virtualmin redirects http requests to the TLD without the www, but I also know that it 'should' be possible to restrict this behaviour, unfortunately, I've failed so far to get it to do this.

My issue is simple: I've been using Virtualmin/Webmin/Usermin for a while now, everything worked perfectrly. Mostly used for webhosting.

I've installed the virtualmin git package, enabled it in the features, enabled it on the virtual server, and I can see the service "Git Repositories".

However, when I fill in all the info and click Create, it refreshes the page but doesn't create anything, and I don't see any error messages.
