Here is what I am trying to do,

I want to create a webmin user and provide him with the File Manager module only. Further, from the File Manager, I'd like to allow that webmin user to access a specific directory only.

I have created a webmin user with the File Manager module only. However, that webmin user can access all the directories. How do I enforce this restriction ?

I worte some script which did some post configuration upon new virtual server creation. The script was stored in "/usr/local/webmin/virtual-server/" (FreeBSD). Today I created a new virtual server and the error massege was displayed, that the custom script couldn't be found. And indeed, it wasn't there anymore. The only thing, wich comes to my mind is that maybe during the webmin upgrade "virtual-server/" directory was removed/overwritten by the Virtualmin upgrade system. Does virtualmin/webmin upgrade removes/overwrites this directory?

Hello folks,

I started a PPTP VPN Server on my Debian Sarge Server with Webmin 1.470. When I go to "Active Connections" I can not see the Username of connected Users. There is always written "Unknown"..... Is ist possible to change this?

Additionally I would like to log how many traffic every User used. Is that possible?

I think the best way to monitor a web and mailserver is the using of "System and Server Status" modul.

I´v seen it is possible to run the command e.g. every 5 minutes and set the "Commands to run / If monitor goes down, run command: /etc/init.d/httpd restart"

So if a problem occured the service will be restarted. This works fine but i dont get any emails on the adress i have entered in the field "Scheduled Monitoring / Email status report to". In the Wiki if read that webmin will use sendmail but i use dovecot and postfix.

I posted this to the incorrect forum...i really meant to post it in the virtualmin portion of the forum...is there a way to put it there

OS: Ubuntu 8.04

Just installed this virutalmin thing, and watched the video. They logged in with a root username, but did not say what the password after the install was.

I realise that i can get in with the main ubuntu user (the first user created when you install ubuntu)

Is this user the big cuhuna of the whole system aka the master administator?

Or should i be logging in with a root username.

I tried to add iptables using the Webmin interface on a Centos5.2 machines running on an OpenVZ server and got the following error: [code:1]Failed to apply configuration :

Flushing firewall rules: [ OK ] Setting chains to policy ACCEPT: mangle filter [ OK ] Unloading iptables modules: [ OK ] Applying iptables firewall rules: iptables-restore: line 61 failed Warning: wierd character in interface `venet0:0' (No aliases, :, ! or *). [FAILED] [/code:1]

I selected the interface from the Webmin dropdown box so it's not like I typed it wrong.

Any ideas?

After the upgrade the cron jobs that run: /etc/webmin/virtual-server/collectinfo.pl are now generating:

Undefined subroutine &webmin::list_keys called at /usr/libexec/webmin/webmin/webmin-lib.pl line 591, <123728052617294> line 10.

I have not done anything between the upgrade and these appearing. Is there any other debug info I can provide that would be useful in isolating this?

For the life of me I can't remember whether I hacked a solution, or whether there was one officially put in that I just don't remember.

So here's the short version. I had to shut down my company about a year ago, sadly. When I was in business, I have a cluster of MySQL servers running NDB as the default table type, and I know for fact Jamie added NDBCluster as a table type in the MySQL module, and also put a feature in place that when you create a MySQL user on one box, also create it on other cluster servers, so far, so good.
