Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

IMAP Problem

Ok, Ive searched the forums and google and cant really find any answer to this one. It looks to me like IMAP is looking in the wrong place for email. Currently users in a domain are placed into /home/domain/homes/user.domain for their directory. It appears as though Dovecot IMAP is looking for mail in /home/user/maildir

As a result people checking via IMAP are not seeing email, but POP they are finding their email.

Are there any solutions to this?

Domain name for outbound mail.

Hi Guys,

I would like the outbound mail from our server be domain.tld rather than host.tld. Also the "help" for the setting "What domain to use in outbound mail" in postfix configuration recommends this.

"You specify the domain that appears in mail that is posted on this machine. The default configuration of Postfix is to use the local machine name, hostname. Unless you are running a really small site, you probably want to change that into domainname, which defaults to the parent domain of the machine name."

Virtualmin, Postfix and CollectInfo.pl Issue

Hi,

I'm trying out Virtualmin to see how it feels and I've hit an issue involving a cron job being launched by Virtualmin on /etc/webmin/virtual-server/collectinfo.pl which is failing every 5 minutes with :

Error: Failed to query Postfix config command to get the current value of parameter process_id_directory:

Email forwarding for autoresponder list.

I need to forward email to my autoresponder list I am testing. Is there a way to create a catch all email address?

Or preferably using one of the following mehtods, that I can't get to work. I made a .forward and a .procmailrc file and put ithem in the directory above public_html. Any ideas on this?

Thanks

Mike Murphy

Just make sure the path is correct:

\username, "|/usr/bin/perl /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin/parabots/uamemailcap.cgi"

(all this should be on a single line)

Missing virtualmin-release-latest.noarch.rpm File

Good Morning / Evening!!

Just wanted to say agin how much I enjoy your software, and can't wait to see some new features.

I have just recently tried switching to Ubuntu base from Fedora Core, but had problems that I just didn't want to work around.

Going back to Fedora and after getting all the updates I proceed to download the install.sh and reinstall Virtualmin Pro..which I I love to death.

Real Ultimate Power

We use Webmin on several of the older boxes at work, where I mostly do website development and client support on our cPanel servers. I was really excited to find out about Virtualmin, so I had fun setting up an old PIII 800mhz 512ram sandbox server with CentOS, Webmin and Virtualmin GPL rpm's. I have never built a box from scratch, so I was really surprised that it really was "Voila, Webserver". I got DNS, email and 2 domain working very quickly using the info on your forum, FAQ's and Wiki. It's LAMP for Lamebrains. Thanks!

how to enable ssh access just for the user folder

Hi There,

Today, when my customers access their webspace via ssh, they can run the command "cd /home" and see all the other users/customers that I have in my server.

How can I deny this access ? I mean... he can access his webspace via ssh, but he cannot go to /home or / or any other folder (except his own)

Thank you,
