Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Install Problem on Debian

Brand new Debian etch install and Virtualmin Pro. Install script fails at what looks like a bind9 dependancy problem. If I try and install bind manually I get:

apt-get install bind9

The following packages have unmet dependencies: bind9: Depends: libdns22 (= 1:9.3.4-2) but 1:9.3.4-2etch1 is to be installed Depends: libisccfg1 (= 1:9.3.4-2) but 1:9.3.4-2etch1 is to be installed Depends: libisc11 (= 1:9.3.4-2) but 1:9.3.4-2etch1 is to be installed Depends: libisccc0 (= 1:9.3.4-2) but 1:9.3.4-2etch1 is to be installed

incorrect hostname showing up

I am new to all of this but is there a way for the virtual host name to show up instead of the actual hostname of the machine.

Example hostname = lasvegas virtual server domain pointmail.biz virtual mail server mail.pointmail.biz

Response from pingability.com Server Name None IP 24.173.255.35 Location United States Mail Server For *@pointmail.biz MX Priority 10 Connect Response Time 417ms Server 'Hello' Line 220 lasvegas.phoenixbroadband.net

VMware, Centos and Virtualmin together

Hi guys I need help here i am new to linux, i got centos 5 and virtualmin installed nicely into my win 2003 host using vmware server, i can log on to virtualmin local, using 127.0.0.1 or the real ip, and even the domain name, but only inside the guest windows. From the outside the internet i get timeout and the dns settings i have resolves to the correct ip. can you guys help me configure the settings, so i can get the server from the net.

Non-alias server limit

As installed, Virtualmin Pro's Default Server Template has two settings under "Default domain owner limits" for limits on numbers of servers: "Default limit on number of virtual servers", which is set to "At most 0", and "Default limit on number of alias servers", which is set to "Unlimited"

Problem with Mailman

I have a new installation of Virtualmin Pro on a new CentOS5 server. I have created an ip based virtual server with Mailman lists enabled. I have created a mailing list on that virtual server. Mail sent to the list is not forwarded to subscribers.

I have seen "FS#3205 - Mailman doesn't send mail and other problems" where you say this problem can be solved by starting the Mailman process. Here's what happens when I try to do that:

Remote login hangs up

I cannot login from a remote computer to my virtualmin software. When ever I try, I see the process trying, but it doesn't work. Usually when a connect isn't made, one gets a message of some kind. Not in this case. It just keeps trying. I can login using the server itself. I don't want to do that.

https://domain.com:10000 doesn't work.

What to do?
