Help! (Home for newbies)

I am trying to setup my own nameservers and am having trouble. I am not sure if I did things correctly or not:

1) I setup a master zone for a domain. I put in my static ip address etc. 2) Using virtualmin I created a new server. The records file shows ip addresses of the local machine ie 192.168.1.235 instead of my static ip. Is this correct? or should it also show the static ip?

Hello, After one week of fight with my server, it won... I have installed a clean version of CentOs on a server, and then installed VirtualMin using the .sh script.

My server is working, I can display a page using my domain name anoxya.com However, the www is not working, I know that's coming from the Cname, but i don't know why that's not working...

Here is my DNS Record :

I have been using VM gpl now for long enough to have become reasonably familiar with the basics and am still very pleased with it. I have a suggestion or perhaps a feature request. I have found that asking users to log in to www.theirdomain.com:20000 is not something they find very intuitive or easily memorable when they want to check their webmail. So what I've done is set up a zero second redirect from index.html in xxx.xxx.com/webmail to take them to the login page.

I have 2 production servers running Vmin Pro on centos5 and they are awesome!

For my personal use, I want to install a GPL version on a small VPS running centos 4.5. as I understand, the install script will not work on centos4.5 so I am going to try the manual install.

so, my question is: I think I can set-up most of the required packages, but I doubt I can make postfix work as intended. does anybody have some tips to share with me?

I recently enabled the Centos plus repository in order to install PHP5 on my server. I think it updated Perl at the same time. I am getting this error when I log into Virtualmin

I have a problem where I cant get to the log on page, all get is the error below. The server is Ubuntu 8.04 runing on VMware. My sites are all running ok,its just I cant add any more or manage my existing ones :(

Hi People, I want to set up mail accounts very simply: login name: name (only)

In trying to do so finished up with a prefix of the name of a MySQL database I was going to setup! (It was demanded by the batch file I was using to add users "MySQL" option)mandatorily.) Now the login appears as Dbasename.user@netcapitalisation.com .

Can't see how to remove it. OR set up the simplified login.

(I may have extended problem with my new install as I cannot login via FTP either in any variation.)

I did a major reorganization of my office last night and when I plugged everything back in for my webserver and double checked on the sites, they were all down.

I can only get to webmin using the IP address:10000.

When I do a lookup, it says domain not found. When I run a dns check the SOA record comes back with the REFUSED status.

I don't recall changing anything in my Bind that would cause this. Any info would be helpful.

Hi, I just installed Virtualmin GPL and it shows me there is a New version 2.2.3-7el5.2vm of Apache HTTP Server.

When i tried updating, i got this error message: ERROR with rpm_check_debug vs depsolve: Package turbopanel-tomcat needs mod_jk >= 1.2.0, this is not available.

But on checking Software Packages through Webmin, i can see that mod_jk Version 1.2.26-1.el5.gdg is already installed on my server but virtualmin is somehow not seeing it.

Hi, I am really new to linux and virtualmin. I just paid for a virtual dedicated/private server having CentOS 5.0 I wanted to try the free virtualmin before i upgrade to the paid licenced version.

Before installing Virtualmin GPL. I was able to upgrade CentOS to the latest CentOS 5.2 and other requirements before installing. But now i am having the following error on Virtualmin when i do thr Re-check and Refresh configuration: No Ethernet interface could be automatically found on your system. Use the module configuration page to set the interface manually.
