Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Mirror Incremental Backup

Ok, here is my problem. I have several servers that need daily backup. The amount of data and server configuration doesn't allow me to do full backup every time. Now I would need some sort of incremental backup that in the end will be a true mirror of the site. If a file is deleted from the server, I need it deleted from the backup as well. Does incremental backup do that? Or does it just backup new and updated files?

Backuping again

Thanks Joe for super response to Backup thread some day before, but I've started this new one due to little differencies.

My scenario is:

I got 3 servers.

First one is main server serving all of our clients websites (about 100 Joomla installations). Second one is secondary DNS and secondary MX server for first main server. Third is configured exactly the same as first one, but it is on different line (hosting provider) and is "sleeping" (serving only testing projects for now).

no mysql/bin

I am trying to solve an error I mentioned before but when following the directions on how to fix it I cam to find that there was no mysql/bin in my folder. Does this version of mysql have a different configuration. everything was working before and I don't see how I could have erased it. Any idea?

I have usr/local/bin/mysql but not the other way around.<br><br>Post edited by: allie, at: 2008/09/06 11:27

PHP FCGI - Virtualmin GPL

Hello,

I am testing virtualmin GPL, since we are considering moving to it for our virtual servers management. Will probably use Pro if we are happy with it.

Anyway, I'm trying to set-up the FCGI - PHP thing under GPL and I am having the following problem :

Accessing php files thourgh webserver gives the apache error 403 Forbidden.

Here is what I did :

Installed virtualmin GPL with automated script install.sh

Removed mod_php and installed apache2-mpm-worker instead of prefork.

Modifed VHost to include in public_html directory :

Fetchmail mail check jobs not working?

Dear newsgroupers,

Using Webmin 1.420 on Xubuntu 8.04. Fetchmail only seems to collect mail using the "check all servers" option. Even Fetchmin itself seems not to collect the mail every hour.

The advised Scheduled checking to create a Cronjob seems not to be advertised under the >>System>>Scheduled Cron Jobs tab. What should I see there? I would expect some fetchmail command?

Please advise,

tia

problem when grant permissions

Hi My site went down. flics.lfhub.com I couldn't figure out why and was tinkering with the settings. I tried to grant permissions in mysql and now I have the following message on all the permission pages and I can't figure out how to fix it:

SQL select * from user order by user failed : SELECT command denied to user 'root'@'localhost' for table 'user'

Please help!

I just realized that I had changed my password prior to changing the permissions can this be the problem?<br><br>Post edited by: allie, at: 2008/09/05 10:29

PHP uploads problem - VM GPL

My VM GPL is a fresh, untampered install of the latest version (except I turned off SELinux).

I cannot upload files through PHP. No error is generated in the httpd error_log, or messages, or dmesg nor is a message generated through PHPs error_reporting. It just doesn't work.

I noticed the problem in Joomla first, but then wrote a little script to isolate the prob. After uploading, PHP returns true to file_exists() in the system /tmp dir, but there is nothing in there when I check form the command line.
