PostFix SSL issue

I have postfix setup and recently added SSL Cert. I am trying to force outgoing emails to use TLS. I am using client Thunderbird, settings port 465 Use SSL/TLS Authentication Use Normal Password

The emails go but are not encrypted (I can tell as sending the email to a gmail account -gmail tells you if it's encrypted or not).

Hosting only on VirtualMin

Hi everyone.

First of all, I'm definitely a newbie, so I apologise for not understanding fully.

I have a website for a friend that is getting too resource hungry for a shared server, so I have got a linux centos6 dedicated server.

I have installed Virtualmin on it, and have logged into the Control Panel.

For now, I only want the site hosted on the server, the emails are taken care of with using google mail. The domain name is registered at Fasthosts.

To get this to work do I just need to do the following:

Cloudmin Install on Amazon EC2

I am trying to install Cloudmin to help in provisioning and maintaining EC2 instances but am not having much luck. I have tried Centos 7 and Ubuntu 14.04

When using Centos 7 and login to the GUI there is a message about Xen not be installed. I have installed all the modules from various guides but still the messages appears.

I tried on Ubuntu and the same message applies except it says something about a bridge interface not found as well as Xen modules.

I would prefer to use Centos 7 but Ubuntu would be fine too.

Can not receive emails

After long time working with cpanel I decided to give a try to Vmin, so I install Vmin pro in a brand new server under Centos 6.7, everything works fine and actually it is very good only one problem that is holding me to load my websites, the POP3 and IMAP are not receiving emails, I can send no problem but can not receive, scan the ports and they are open, DNS are ok,MX point to the right server, Devecot configuration looks like ok, so after one day reading to this forum any of information that I gathered from there fix the issue, so I decided to ask for help, I'll be very gratfull if som

FTP Connection Refused

Hi,

I've just fresh install virtualmin on my server. And I've set everything up smoothly, until I get connection refused.

I've added webftp server via edit users and make sure the proftpd service is started. I've got no clue what's going on. And then when I get to my server and put this command : netstat -tulpn | grep :21

and

netstat -a | grep ftp

There are no ftp service listed as running, and then I go to webmin try to look for the service it shows that the proftpd is started.

FTP Directory Restriction bug

Hello,

  1. I have virtualmin version 4.x (i don't know how to check the exact version number of virtualmin, where is it?) installed on a Debian 8 server. I now have created 3 virtual servers so I have 3 different users for 3 websites. The problem is i tried to use FTP Directory Restriction to apply restriction only to virtual server home directory, so basically:

User A on /home/A User B on /home/B User C on /home/C

Webmin login page is accessed by unauthenticated user from xx.xx.xx.xx

I have just seen this warning from root emails. What does that mean? Does it simply mean someone tried to login unsuccessfully from that IP? Or does it mean that they were successful, but not an authorized IP?

I tried googling the error, but didn't get much in the way of help.

Domain specific SSL

I am new to SSL's and still finding my way around.

My question is that I understood elsewhere that with the arrival of Server Name Indication it is no longer necessary to have a dedicated IP address for your SSL.

However, when I look around in Webmin/Virtualmin I can find SSL only under "Webmin Configuration" where I can only set it for the whole IP address.

So my question is: am I missing something or is this a limitation of Webmin/Virtualmin?

Very first virtualmin install - access removed

Hi folks,

I had installed virtualmin on a RHEL system and a couple of very strange problems have cropped up.

Firstly, the Apache test page now says - powered by CentOS instead of RHEL. All the files and filesystems are intact therefore I am at a loss as to why it would report another version of linux altogether.

Secondly, my sudo access has been overwritten / removed after installation. It just comes up with a message that XXXX (username) does not have sudo access....etc
