Webmin

Hi everyone, I got few newbie issues and hope to get some help here.

My box has two NICs, that eth1 is for my public IPs, and I needed to assign multiple IPs to eth1. I did a Google search and found some very brief guides on doing that via Webmin.

After some trying I seem to have gotten my virtual interfaces working, but I want to confirm that I really did set them up correctly, since I did encounter some issues while doing the setup.

Hi! I am a newbie here, using webmin & virtualmin cause I feel it is better than WHM/Cpanel in some way, so far I am happy to use it as my daily server management.

I try to setup a NFS, using my Linux-server-1 to share some disk space to Linux-server-2, I config the NFS export in webmin in Linux-server-1, and try to mount it at server-2 but failed, without any documentation and help I think I will never succeed on this, so, pls help.

Where can you alter the maximum number of concurrent smtp connections when logging in to check for waiting mail..?

The current default appears to be 10 as 10 connect straight away while the rest are queued and then connected as the other ones complete.

Limiting login to IPs - changing via SSH? In my brains to improve security to my admin login I decided to limit access to my root login to my home IP only, thinking that my limited admin access account for creating / managing all virtual servers I create, I can use from work and/or at all other times.

Little did I realise that limiting login on my root account, also limits access on my limited admin account due to it having a secondary group... of root.

How do I (via SSH) add in another IP for "only allow access"?

Which file/s do I edit?

OK so this is the issue now. I've gotten Postfix up and running and it looks like everyone is happy with me. The problem: I would like to have Postfix listen to two different IPs and send and recieve mail from those two different IPs. I have read that you can run another instance of it and bind each to its own IP. How would this work would virtualmin? Would I still be able to modify users and such? I know that the interface modifies the Virtual user file so if i create a new instance will it know to read from that second virtual host file?

Hello, not a very Webmin issue, but I rather ask it here. What is your recommended course of action for restoring a RAID 1 software array? My problem is that one of my RAID 1 Velociraptors HLFS (the second, new one, if you believe it!) has SMART (also the problems are visible in /var/log/messages) errors:

I'm using Virtualmin with Webmin 1.490, and I have setup customized options on the modules using Categories, Module Titles, and Reassign Modules, and after a few minutes of them being setup, logging out and back in...

ALL of the settings I'd done are no longer visible to anyone. The Module titles revert back, to the user, to their original names, but still show to be setup. The catagories I added are still there. But the reassigned modules to different categories, and the visual module titles shown are the originals, not the changed setup.

I have got an old webmin install on one of my ftp servers and it allows me to "add other servers to a cluster" to manage them.

I recently deployed webmin over a few web servers now (1.490) but the "Add other servers to cluster" button is not in this version...

Could someone let me know if the feature has been removed, or what's up?

I had a problem last week with a missing element from my php that one was "php-xml".

I think I am also missing the ZipArchive class.

The php manual says that no installation is necessary as it is part of the php core but when I run this in my php script:

$zip = new ZipArchive; $zip->open("$page"); $zip->extractTo('./'); $zip->close(); echo "Ok!";

I get this error:

Fatal error: Class 'ZipArchive' not found in /home/guru54gt5/public_html/sys/convert_xml.php on line 70

Hi,

I am setting up a DNS cluster with Webmin and I am running through my “Emergency Recovery Plan” on the master server and I’ve hit a snag.

Everything gets restored correctly except that the zones are not showing up in the Webmin interface. I believe this is because the /etc/webmin/bind8/zone-names files is not being updated as this file does not list the zones nor is it part of the backup.

How do I refresh the zone-names file so that I can see the zones in the Webmin interface?
