Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Scheduled Backup doesn't send email

My scheduled backups in virtualmin are working, but I get no notification. I want to get an email with the backup status each time the backup tries to happen. The backups are working, but no notification ever comes to my email address. All other email from the virtual domains seems to be working right.

Any suggestions?

cgi mail scripts not working

Hi Folks,

I'm relatively "non-nerdy" and don't have a whole lot of background with VM.

I'm trying to get a mail script to work (Perl, "formmail.pl").

I put it in a folder named "cgi-bin" under my web root, chmod'd to 755, but I still get an error:

Not Found

The requested URL /cgi-bin/FormMail.pl was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server

in VM, under SERVICES > CONFIGURE WEBSITE > DOCUMENT OPTIONS, there's an "execute CGI programs" option under DIRECTORY OPTIONS, which I enabled "yes", but no effect.

Usermin: mailbox often currupte because of 0 lengt messages

I have one mailbox that is often corrupted because of one, or several messages in it with zero length. Usermin can then not open that mailbox in most case, and if, can not delete those messages.

I have to remove them then with Webmin > Servers >Read User Mail and remove the [none] message(s) manually.

Strangely it's in 95% of cases always the same mailbox. I have deleted and re-installed it already a few times.

Any clues where the error could be?

PS: I run CentOS with Postfix and Dovecot

Mailman and Virtualmin

Hi,

I have virtualmin setup on Debian 5.0, my problem is i could not use port 10000 so i disabled SSL and used apache to reverse proxy.

Everything seems to work fine, however when someone subscribes to the list it sends out a URL to mailman interface that tries to redirect to SSL port 10000.

The Question is how do i change this?

Many Thanks, Dan

Bandwidth monitoring problems

Just for help other ppl who may pass the same.

I noticed the Bandwidth monitoring has been suddenly stopped.

I couldn't enable it again (ip_conntrack_netbios_ns module FAILED)

I found the solution in a Linode.com CentOS config guide:

nano /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config

edit:

IPTABLES_MODULES="ip_conntrack_netbios_ns"

to:

IPTABLES_MDULES=""

(save pressing ctrl+X, then Y for save, and Enter to confirm)

then run:

/etc/init.d/iptables restart

port 10000 open but no connection with Virtualmin?

nmap shows:

10000/tcp open snet-sensor-mgmt

There were several install errors at the beginning about getting daily-9451.cdiff Otherwise all went well with the script install on a fresh distro of Centos 5.3 final.

I have already hinstalled Virtualmin on one server and am now doing the exact same steps on another and having this problem. Funny that nmap shows an open socket with a management device attached and yet I cannot connect via the https:xxxxxx:10000 port.

Thanks to all who respond, Techmen

Upgrade killed procmail! [fixed]

So, I've never had an issue with Debian screwing with my config, but apparently this morning it did.

/etc/procmailrc is getting processed ~/.procmailrc isn't <-- that is my problem

Mind you, I just know enought about mail to get myself into trouble...

root@Benzaiten:/etc/postfix# grep procmail * main.cf:mailbox_command = /usr/bin/procmail-wrapper -o -a $DOMAIN -d $LOGNAME

root@Benzaiten:/etc# cat procmailrc
