mysql dump in backups

Found a problem when trying to restore a DB from a virtualmin backup, only half the tables restored.

On examining the mysqldump file from the backup tar, we found it just stopped , and did not backup all tables

After some investigation we found it was caused by a cron task on that site that was creating and deleting a table it uses for temporary calculations every 5 mins.

Fresh Install CentOS 7 1&1 (ionos) cant connect

Ok well yes I am new to VPS, however I set up a successfully working virtualmin vps days ago with little problem. NOW, I went for a larger VPS environment on 1&1 (ionos) (I mention them specifically because I am wondering if their environment has to be the problem) and no matter what, trying every possibility of things to look for/fix/update I can find on google, I cannot connect on the 10000 port. Not with my domain or the ip.

[SOLVED] LetsEncrypt An unexpected error occurred: UnsupportedAlgorithm: RSA is not supported by the backend

Hi All, Unfortunately I don't really have a timeline when this started happening, maybe within a month?

How to create the error: Virtualmin >> domain >> Server Configuration >> SSL Certificate >> LetsEncrypt Tab

From Lets Encrypt output: Saving debug log to /var/log/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.log Plugins selected: Authenticator webroot, Installer None An unexpected error occurred: UnsupportedAlgorithm: RSA is not supported by the backend Please see the logfiles in /var/log/letsencrypt for more details.

Webmin/Virtualmin crashed after deleting domain

I deleted a domain and virutamin crashed. When I try to webin restart it gives

sudo /etc/init.d/webmin restart Stopping Webmin server in /usr/share/webmin cat: /var/webmin/miniserv.pid: No such file or directory /etc/webmin/stop: 4: kill: Usage: kill [-s sigspec | -signum | -sigspec] [pid | job]... or kill -l [exitstatus] Starting Webmin server in /usr/share/webmin Failed to open SSL key /home/new.idio.net/ssl.key at /usr/share/webmin/miniserv.pl line 4434.

Lets encrypt fails with wrong hostname

HI all Not sure if this is the best place to post, so feel free to move Iv got a few domains hosted on my server, all using lets encrypt for ssl Its been a while since I have added a domain to the server, so have had a few updates applied I recently removed a number of domains and subdomains and went to add a new subdomain. Created fine, but when I went to generate the ssl it fails with "ssl.CertificateError: hostname 'subdomain.websitea.com' doesn't match 'subdomain.websiteb.com'"

"MIgration went bad" Is there any danger installing virtalmin and migrating/restoring virtual servers using root account?

Hi guys, i get so muddled up i suppose when setting up linux machines. We get told to use sudo and not root, then we are told to use root (for example when installing whmcs and even control panels)

So i decided to migrate virtualmin from google cloud (debian 9) to vultr and used root account on the vultr instance to install everything (debian 9).

I also restored backups from the old server to the new one using root account.

virtualmin migration to a new blank virtualmin server

guys, i need to move all of my virtual servers on Google Cloud Compute across to a new virtualmin server on Vultr.

I was hoping that the backup destination option Webmin Server would work.

I went to my Vultr console and ensured that port tcp 10000 is open to all external

I have not selected "create destination directory"

I selected Webmin as the destination,

Webmin server = "new server ip address"
File on server = /var/backups/
Login as user = root
with password = "mypassword"

one good one bad email

Here's the setup:

Ubuntu 16.04.2 ppa:ondrej/php CSF Firewall Webmin 1.9 Virtualmin 6.06-2 Bind 9.10 Postfix 3.1.0 Dovecot 2.2.22

FQDN was the first domain added so that rDNS and DNS records were created to satisfy forthcoming domains. Email works for first domain. Mail client (thunderbird and android email) work just fine and sync. Secondary Domain (added as tld) works as long as I'm not trying to get email. Web, dns, etc work. Email doesn't. Same clients, gives error about unable to connect.
