Install error using install.sh Centos 5.10

Hi people,

I have been trying to set up a local server but I can't get past a failure despite extensive searching.

Here is what I have done :-

Clean install of Centos 5.10.

wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh

sh install.sh

The script runs but fails and below is a copy of the screen echo. The log /root/virtualmin-install.log looks the same.

Create IMAP folders from client

So i have a strange issues. I just switched from LXAdmin/Kloxo over to virtualmin. I was using Dovecot in kloxo as well. With Outlook connected to Kloxo using IMAP I could create folders in Outlook and they'd get created on the server as well. However with the Virtualmin settings it doesn't appear to let me create the folders that way. However if I log in with roundcube and create the folders that works. Then I can subscribe to them with outlook.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Question about redirection.

Hey guys I have the following set up at the moment:

my two domains are both registered with a registrar.

I bought up an set up a vps yesterday with virtualmin and pointed my a names to the new ip and it propagated fine.

The second domain has always redirected to primary, and is still using 3-4gb of banwidth a day with old host.

If I point it's a name to the new ip as well would I need to create a sub server for it or can i get away with just redirecting it under the system settings / redirects?

Not Creating ProFTPD Virtual Servers.

Hi Folks,

I'm brand new to virtualmin and pretty new to linux in general, so please bear with me if I'm asking frustrating or silly questions.

I recently installed virtualmin on my VPS from digital ocean running CentOS 6.5. I installed it using the automated method outlined on the virtualmin website in the documentation section for installation. Basically I downloaded the install script using wget from the url provided for the GPL version then ran it. It was straight onto a clean install, i quite literally did the following:

Using Virtualmin without a Domain Name for Installation - Just IP?

Is it possible to use Virtualmin without a domain name, just the IP?

I don't need a domain name for the installation for DNS purposes for the hosted sites as I set up nameservers for each site at the registrar and use these along with modifiying default nameservers generated when Virtualmin creates a virtual server.

upgrading mediawiki fails on VM 4.06

Upgrading MediaWiki to version 1.22.3 ..

    Configuring webserver PHP settings ..
    .. already done.

    Downloading http://download.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/1.22/mediawiki-1.22.3.tar.gz ..
Failed to upgrade scripts : Download of http://download.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/1.22/mediawiki-1.22.3.tar.gz failed : HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found

I've looked up the url:

http://dumps.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/1.22/

and can confirm that the 1.22.3 file isn't there.

Location of Django install script on centos

Hi all,

Have a fresh install of Virtualmin (GPL) on a Centos 6.5 box. I tried to run the install script for django, but it fell over on a couple of dependencies. I added the repositories google suggested and cleared all problems except for python-psycopg. I have found and installed psycopg, and python-psycopg2, but I cannot find python-psycopg (note the numbers and dashes).

I noticed in the forum that a(n) Ubuntu user had successfully run the script, so I'm thinking it's a distro difference problem.

Using virtualmin backup feature to capture individual Amazon RDS databases

Hi everyone,

I've been using Virtualmin for quite some time (and love it) to host some client web sites and their respective MySQL databases on Amazon EC2, and for a whole lot of reasons now plan to turn off the MySQL database server (on localhost) and instead use RDS.

I've discovered that individual customer DB snapshots are not available with RDS, and I can't seem to configure Virtualmin to back up databases from a remote DB server (eg not localhost). I'd rather not write scripts and create CRON jobs for each customer to manage their backups, but I will if I have to.

Need Help! Can't access to virtualmin.

Dear friends!

I have problem to access to virtualmin on a VPS. Apache also does not start. Moreover, I can not access to the server via SSH. Though, I have console access. Webmin is running but is not accessible.

When I try to start httpd, it gives me the below error:

Cannot assign requested address: make_sock: could not bind to address serveripaddress:80 no listenin sockets available, shutting down unable to open logs

I have below directives in httpd.conf file:

ServerName serveripaddress:80 Listen serveripaddress:80
