Help! (Home for newbies)

Hello!

I'm moving to a new server soon, first time in 5 years (holy cow, already?!?), and I'm in the middle of making myself a checklist of what could go wrong, or shouldn't be a cause for worrying. I've reached the case of virtualmin backups restoration, so I'd rather ask here and be sure, rather than discover by myself in 2-3 months without time to prepare in advance :)

When i create a virtual server i see "403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource."

After bit of research i discovered if i change to i can access the site.

is this possible to have it set somewhere so next time if i add a virtual server it has * instead of the ip automatically?

I'm on Mac and i use Ubuntu 16.04 on Virtualbox. Ubuntu Linux 16.04.2 Webmin version 1.930
Usermin version 1.780 Virtualmin version 6.07

I just installed Virtualmin on my VPS. After that, I configured it and added two virtual servers to it. When I add a script to one of my virtual servers, it adds scripts separately to each. Until now, I had Plesk control panel and it using all modules like mailboxes, PHPMyAdmin and etc only once and all users and websites only have their own subscription in them, but here it stores each script separately for every website. I think it's not good because we should store more space and it makes more complexity to manage them.

I am new to using webmin/virtualmin and I have setup a few virtual servers using virtualmin. I have user accounts on those virtual servers that I forward mail to gmail from. In gmail, I wish to setup a "send as" to use those domain accounts emails. I've been unable to get gmail to connect via TLS. Can somebody either tell me what the correct settings are on the virtualmin side or point me to online documentation that has examples?

hello, not first time I am installing virtualmin, but run today a new setup from scratch and get into a problem - fresh centos 7 (naked) yum install wget etc... all success but only http, (virtualmin on https no problems) any virtualhost trying to add with ssl - drop me error:

This site can’t provide a secure connection sent an invalid response. Try running Windows Network Diagnostics. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

http protocol works fine (created index.html file)

Creating new virtual machines now works for me with the edits shown elsewhere. But creating a new mysql user in webmin in the mysql section fails with this error

I have a Wordpress site that I wasnt using SSL with, then added SSL with Lets Encrypt, all done via the Virtualmin backend. I can now no longer access the Wp-Admin backend of my site, but I can access the rest of the pages. I get a 404 when I try to access wp-admin.

Any ideas? DId I miss a step?

Update, never mind. Just realized scl only affects the current shell. As soon as I logged out and back in, it reverted. Thanks

I used the command to set my bash to use PHP 7.2 doing this:

scl enable rh-php72 bash

Well I changed my mind. How do I go back to the the installed php 5.4x ? There doesn't seem to be a command for this.

Trying to search online for a solution but it's kind of vague.

Not sure I get it. I have a virtual host with 4 sub-domains. When I try to "Backup Virtual Servers" the backup starts, then throws that error.

I have in fact only selected the top level virtual server in the backup routine, but the error persists with only that selected AND with all of them selected. No idea what this means.

I'm confused to the wording of this

"Use this certificate in Webmin, so that it is the default presented to admins accessing the Virtualmin web user interface on port 10000."

Use this certificate in Dovecot for SSL-protected IMAP and POP3 connections.

etc.

So if i have 6 virtual servers, does that button apply to virtual server 1 or all six ?
