Cannot Create Virtual Server after Virtualmin Package Updates.

My linux skills are rather limited, so I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Some time ago, I setup my webserver by running http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh on Ubuntu Server 16.04. This installed Webmin 1.881, Virtualmin 6.03 and Usermin 1.741. Until today, this has all worked fine.

Sub-domain as Main Site?

I want a sub-domain to be the main site say sub.example.com

Do I first need to create a main virtual server example.com and then a sub-server sub.example.com and forward the main to the sub?

Or as long as the A record is set up, can I just create sub.example.com on the main virtual server without creating a sub-domain on Virtualmin?

What do you recommend or is there a better way?

Thank you!

Webmin installed, can't install Virtualmin

After a bit of a struggle with dependencies, I've managed to get Webmin installed, and it seems to work just fine, but Virtualmin continues to give an error when trying to install it. It keeps saying "No repos available for this OS". The OS I'm running is Ubuntu Linux 17.10.

Is that OS just unsupported or something?

bad clams

ubuntu 16.04 webmin 1.890

issue began in the early morning hours when clam apparently crapped out, according to my mail.err log. messages stopped being delivered, and began piling up in the queue. manually starting clam and flushing the queue got things rolling again. but i was perplexed as a previous reboot should have done the trick. so i rebooted again, and the problem came back - dead clam. another manual clam start and flush, and voila!
