Domain access (ping) from outside server and not from inside

hi, I am on a VPS, have Virtualmin with some domains of my own.

For some time, I mentioned that internal processes cannot see their own domain. Let us take the domain yanfouom.net : you can reach it from anywhere by a ping, but not when I am connected in a terminal on the VPS ! I made a mistake somewhere. Can you please help me ? Thanks per advance. Here are some facts :

In a terminal on the server, you type :

x@vps296125:~$ ping yanfouom.net

you get:

File Manager: Upload Subirectories?

I want to be able to use the File Manager to upload new Wordpress theme/plugin files. The problem is that they often contain several subdirectories. From what I can see there is no way to include uploads of subdirectories (other than uploading the files in the subdirectories into the respective directory).

Am I missing something? Or is it simply not possible?

DNS Registrar vs Virtualmin

I'm trying to setup Virtualmin on a VPS to host a couple websites with email. I've been having troubles the whole week and I'm not sure what to do anymore. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have been able to get the websites online with a "hello world" HTML page that I loaded into the file manager. Getting email to work has been harder and I think all of my issues seem to be stemming from DNS configurations.

I have registered the domains with porkbun.com and they have a UI to manage DNS records that looks like this:

Firewall

Hi guys!

I finally got my sites up and running and things are working just great! My question is: should I be running some sort of firewall for security and if so which one would you folks recommend?

If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page shown after reinstalling apache

Hi,

this morning the apache server was down. I found out some file was missing and the online advise that worked was to purge apache and reinstall it. I did that, and I could restart apache afterwards. However, all the 'servers' / websites now point to the Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page.

Deleting /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/00-default.conf, such as suggested here: https://virtualmin.com/node/37342 broke apache again.

I tried as well disabling and enabling virtual servers, no better result.

Server crashes after I installed virtualmin

I running Virtualmin on a 64bit ubuntu 18.04 server in VMware and I can kill the server using wget after I installed Virtualmin

$ wget https://downloads.joomla.org/da/cms/joomla3/3-9-13/Joomla_3-9-13-Stable-...

Will crash the system and I don't know why, it drops all network connects and I can't access the server using the VMware console, I have to reset the server to return it to an operational state.

Default enabled features for sub server

Hi. I have to create several subservers and unfortunately the default list of enabled features does not meet my requirements. For example, on the parent server I used a certain 'Account Plan' that disables MySQL but when I'm creating a sub server of it, the enabled features have MySQL selected. Where are these default options coming from? I've checked both 'Account Plans' and 'Server Templates'.

Use domain instead of IP Address to access Webmin/Virtualmin

I tried to follow these instructions but it didnt take on my end.

https://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/Securing_Webmin https://www.virtualmin.com/node/65584

I am trying to access virtualmin/webmin through a subdomain such as server.mysitedomain.com:10000 if I cannot secure access through my IP addresses. The instructions on the two links above were not clear to me.

I am also not sure they pertain exactly to my issue.
