Got a problem not covered by the docs? Don't know where to look in the docs or in the forums? All of the other forums over your head? If you're new to Virtualmin, this is the place for you.

Virtualmin Vs Plesk: Does Plesk offer any benefit?

I am experimenting with both Plesk and Virtualmin in small Digital Ocean boxes. I was always under the impression that Plesk offered some kind of automation of server, but from everything I have seen it's just another panel.

I'm really in the market for a middleground solution between cheap shared hosting and expensive Wordpress hosting like WpEngine.

Virtualmin and Webserver Backups

What I really want is a mysqldump of each website (respectively) and all site files (respectively) put into a tarball in a directory on the same box. I would like it to be overwritten each day.

So, I would have

/backup/site106072019.tar /backup/site206072019.tar

I would then pull from a FreeNAS box via rsync for daily, weekly, and monthly backups.

I would probably backup those up to S3 or something as well.

Location for HTML auth file to fix Google's harmful content blocker

Our virtualmin server/domain has become flagged by Google's harmful/malicious content blocker. It says one of our virtualmin hosted pages links to malicious content but it is not telling us exactly which page or link is deemed malicious. Apparently Google's webmaster tools should tell me this but I have yet to get it to accept my authentication file and so I still don't know the exact issue.

Virtualmin on a VPS: How do multiple domains at different registrars work?

Suppose I have some domains at GoDaddy/Bluehost/Siteground/wherever.

I set up a Virtualmin on CentOS.

I know that I can point the domain at the VPS's IP, but how does it work if you need to migrate to a site to a different box? Do you have to have the client log in and change their name servers to point at the new box? Is there a way for the VPS provider (Digital Ocean in my case) to handle this or is this a completely manual process?

mobile networks

I had posted before about mobile issues and virtualmin/webmin before. I thought I had the answer by re-installing from scratch, but that didn't pan out either. So, spec's first:

Webmin 1.9 Usermin 1.751 Virtualmin 6.06 CSF 12.10 Kernel & CPU Linux 3.10.0-957.12.1.el7.x86_64 on x86_64 CentOS Linux 7.6.1810

All software is up to date.

Help getting started with Virtualmin

I just installed Virtualmin in a small CentOS. I have a few websites that are about to outgrow their shared hosting, and I am considering Virtualmin or Plesk on CentOS as a solution.

  1. What is the difference between Virtualmin and Webmin? I really don't understand the distinction between the two pieces of software...

  2. If you need to create an account for a client/customer, you would use a "Virtual Server" for that, correct?

  3. Virtual Servers do what exactly? Create a separate directory for customer's stuff?

Your system only has PHP version 7.2.17 installed, so selecting a different version for each directory is not possible.
