Help! (Home for newbies)

OK, so I have been chasing after what I would say is a simple and logical setup for over a year now and am at my wits end. First I like the products, but there are lots of issues with them that can put a stop to their usefulness. I posted about the fact Cloudmin would not install OpenVZ containers and an OS image without upon a reboot it changing its RAM to something entirely different. I got no explanation, so I learned how to do it manually in the CLI. I still don't know if that is fixed.

I've tried several things found throughout the inner webs and on these forums all with no luck.. Just suddenly 2 of my servers admin urls no longer work.. One of the servers I can't even ftp into the other one only the admin url in inop... I've tried changing the port to see if my isp started to block it with no luck. I've restarted the webmin system several times, ive even rebooted the servers. This happened once before with only one server and a reboot fixed it.. this time it had no effect.. Please help as its very important to get back in!

Hi, I tried searching on my own unsuccessfully.

I'm a Windows guy, but I'm not a stranger to Linux, just not very proficient in it (don't often use it).

I set up a VPS with a provider and it's running CentOS 7.2 and the provider had options for pre-installing a LAMP stack with Webmin.

I pointed one of my domains that I intend to host the site for to the IP of the server, and I got the default Apache page.

I have just run recent virtualmin update and since that I'm not able to backup MySQL databases - it throws an error:

mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect

Any clue what is going on when all was working fine previously?

I installed the virtualmin recently and add "mydomain.com" in main name servers during the post installation wizard.

Now i wanted to change them to "ns1.domain.com" and "ns2.domain.com"

i read some threads where it was mentioned to go to System Settings > Server Templates > Bind DNS domain and add "ns1.domain.com" in M"aster DNS server hostname" and "ns2.domain.com" in "Additional manually configured nameservers"

I did this but got an error that additional ns2 nameserver dont exist

I am running a WordPress site on a VPS and every few weeks the server goes off line with 503 error normally.

In the Apache error log I see the following: [fcgid:warn] mod_fcgid: process graceful kill fail, sending SIGKILL

It settles down after a few hours but it getting to be a real pain. Can anyone help solves this issue?

Hi all,

I've been trying to install scripts on a new virtual server under Install Scripts using the Available Scripts options. After selecting the script that I would like to run (eg. phpMyAdmin), I click the "Show Install Options" and then "Install Now"

The trouble I'm having is that no matter what I select; phpMyAdmin, Wordpress, vTiger CRM or anything else they all just seem to hang and in some instances eventually will time out afterwards.

Hello everyone, Last night I run an cumulative update from virtualmin UI. 188updates and 1 new install it said. All went well however after rebooting the VPS Virtualmin is not loading up. tried to stop virtualmin /etc/init.d/webmin stop and restart it /etc/init.d/webmin start without luck. What could be the cause and how to fix it
