These forums are locked and archived, but all topics have been migrated to the new forum. You can search for this topic on the new forum: Search for Emails created by added users to virtual server not saving/forwarding/sending on the new forum.
I can save/send/forward emails from the virtual server owner, but any added email users can only send a simple message (i.e. subject only message with signature. no body content).
If I attempt to forward an email received by the added user or save it as a draft email -- when I click either button there is no action. The send email button and save draft buttons no longer work after clicking on them. Nothing in que, nothing in mail log. I can save, send, forward, from any of the main virtual server owner accounts.
Any help would be appreciated! Virtualmin running on CentOS7
Thanks, Luke
What email client are you using? Usermin, Thunderbird, Outlook...what?
https://ajecreative.com.au
Usermin
without have had this problem myself before, and if it isnt for example, permissions related, I wonder if a "0" mail or home directory quota for user can cause this?
Virtualmin>Edit User>home directory quota
and
Virtualmin>Limits and Validation>Check Disk Quotas (or disk quota monitoring) ...where i imagine the limitation to check would be for "users"
or perhaps even
Virtualmin>Email Settings>Mail Rate limiting
I honestly havent a clue what your problem might be, however, these ideas popped into my head so i thought i would at least mention them just in case!
https://ajecreative.com.au
Ok -- I've determined this issue is isolated to Usermin mail interface. I am able to send, read, receive, save drafts, etc using a 3rd party mail app.
Sent mail from the 3rd party mail app goes to a mail directory called "Sent" and the emails that are sent using Usermin go to a folder called "Sent mail"
What other settings should I be checking?
Thanks, Luke
Adamjedgar,
Home Directory quota has 250/mb box set up for the additional email users. I'll increase this to 1024 (same as server admin account)
Check Disk Quotas is set for both users and groups... Ill change the radio button to Users and see if there is any changes..
Mail Rate limiting is off...
I've done a lot of lurking on the forums and cannot find a solution to this. If anyone else may have any advice, possibly on how to reinstall/reconfigure any postfix/dovecot/procmail compenents that maybe causing this issue I'd appreciate it. I will try to use an alternative mail client like Thunderbird to see if the issue is isolated to Usermin.
I'm a bit perplexed that I can send an email that contains a subject line and signature, but as soon as I add content to the body of the message I am no longer able to save or send the draft -- same goes for forwarding an email. This issue is isolated to the email users that were added to a virtual server.
Ok you said only usermin has this issue.
If third party email clients are working, that means your mail server is working.
Perhaps try checking the usermin logs...quite likely they will contain some information as to what is wrong.

Thank you for your continued support. Here are the server logs after attempting to forward a message unsuccessfully.

When I try to forward the message via Usermin -- it freezes as pictured when clicking "Send" or when Saving. Sent mail is going to two different folders depending on if it was sent via Usermin or 3rd party mail client. I'm a newbie and don't see anything in the logs that stands out.
